P\u00e1draig Harrington has been named a vice-captain of Europe\u2019s team for the 2027 Ryder Cup.<\/p>\n
Harrington joins Edoardo and Francesco Molinari in Luke Donald\u2019s team for the tournament, which will be played at Adare Manor in Co. Limerick, Ireland, in September.<\/p>\n
Three-time major winner Harrington was part of the Europe team the last time the Ryder Cup was played in his home country in 2006.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s something I didn\u2019t expect,\u201d Harrington said. \u201cI honestly didn\u2019t think I\u2019d ever wear the European Ryder Cup logo again. So I\u2019m very happy to be part of it.”<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Ryder Cup has been a special part of my life. Representing Europe has always been one of the highlights of my golfing career and to be able to do it again in this situation, especially in Ireland, is special.\u201d<\/p>\n
He has represented Europe six times as a player, served as vice-captain three times and was captain for the 2021 Ryder Cup, when Donald served as a vice-captain.<\/p>\n
Harrington has won 44 times worldwide.
