\n\tOuter Banks<\/a> has released the trailer and more photos <\/a>for the fifth and final season, and the Pogues are mourning one of their own. <\/p>\n

\n\tFollowing the major season four finale death <\/a>of Rudy Pankow\u2018s erratic-yet-lovable JJ Maybank, the crew at the heart of Netflix<\/a>\u2018s teen treasure hunt series is setting out on one final adventure to avenge their best friend.<\/p>\n

\n\tHere\u2019s the logline: \u201cSeason five finds the Pogues at their absolute breaking point following the tragic loss of JJ in Morocco. Stranded far from home and mourning the heart of their crew, they\u2019ve lost the Blue Crown and continue to face a gauntlet of familiar threats. With Chandler Groff still at large, Dalia and the Corsairs closing in, and the Kooks ensuring the Pogues have no home to return to, John B, Sarah, Kiara, Pope, and Cleo must rely on their scrappy instincts \u2014 and an uneasy alliance with Rafe \u2014 to keep from falling apart for good. Their mission is now a desperate race to reclaim their future and finally win the freedom they\u2019ve been chasing since the beginning. It\u2019s the Pogues against the world as they seek to avenge their best friend and bring it on home\u2026 one final time.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe final season of Outer Banks releases\u00a0Aug. 20 on Netflix, with all 10 episodes dropping at once. The streamer also announced a fan event, Pogues for Life: A Fan Farewell Event, that\u2019s set to take place on Aug. 15 in Los Angeles and feature cast members Chase Stokes, Madelyn Cline, Madison Bailey, Jonathan Daviss, Carlacia Grant and Drew Starkey. <\/p>\n

\n\tFans will get the chance to join the cast as they bid farewell to the series and vote in the inaugural fan-voted award show, the Pogue Awards. Following the cast conversation, the crowd will get the chance to see the first episode of season five days before it hits the platform. <\/p>\n

\n\tHeading into season five, Stokes stars as John B. and is joined by Cline as Sarah Cameron, Bailey as Kiara, Daviss as Pope, Grant as Cleo, Starkey as Rafe, Austin North as Topper, Fiona Palomo as Sofia, J. Anthony Crane as Chandler Groff and Cullen Moss as Shoupe to round out the cast. Jonas Pate, Josh Pate and Shannon Burke serve as the show\u2019s creators and executive producers. <\/p>\n
