Lidl Ireland opened the doors to its brand new store in Cavan today.<\/p>\n
Located on Ballinagh Road, in Cavan town, a brand new store has been built to replace the original store that served the community for more than 25 years.<\/p>\n
This represents a significant milestone in the retailer\u2019s investment in Cavan and creates 16 new permanent jobs.<\/p>\n
Cavan County LGFA Captain, Shauna Lynch officially cut the ribbon this morning and greeted shoppers as they enjoyed the opening day festivities.<\/p>\n
To mark the opening as part of its commitment to the local community, the Lidl Cavan store team selected local charity SOSAD (Cavan branch), to receive a generous donation of \u20ac1,000 in Lidl vouchers.<\/p>\n
The charity supports individuals and families in the local Cavan area in managing their mental health and overcoming life’s challenges.<\/p>\n
The new upgraded store in Cavan reflects Lidl\u2019s established \u2018concept\u2019 design and features a spacious sales floor, offering a premier shopping experience for customers including self-service checkouts, long tills, and the popular in-store bakery offering fresh baked goods daily.<\/p>\n
Sustainability is a key focus for the Cavan store as the retail unit incorporates an ISO 50001-certified energy management system.<\/p>\n
This includes high performing energy efficient technologies, the installation of solar panels (PV panels), LED lighting with automatic lighting control, and heat recovery systems. Within the 120-space car park, the provision of a number of bike spaces and electric vehicle (EV) charging points further supports sustainable transport options for customers and store teams.<\/p>\n
Speaking to Northern Sound, Cavan-Monaghan TD, Brendan Smith said this is a major investment by Lidl in Cavan Town:<\/p>\n
