{"id":575479,"date":"2026-07-30T13:16:16","date_gmt":"2026-07-30T13:16:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/575479\/"},"modified":"2026-07-30T13:16:16","modified_gmt":"2026-07-30T13:16:16","slug":"airsoft-pistol-seized-during-donegal-drugs-raids","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/575479\/","title":{"rendered":"Airsoft pistol seized during Donegal drugs raids"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>An airsoft pistol was seized during a sweep of Garda raids across Donegal last week.<\/p>\n<p>The weapon was among a haul of drugs and designer watches recovered during a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.donegaldaily.com\/news\/donegal-gardai-seize-e11700-of-drugs-following-raids-across-county-643057\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Day of Action<\/a> targeting organised crime and the sale and supply of drugs in Letterkenny and East Donegal on 23rd July.<\/p>\n<p>Garda\u00ed have now confirmed that seven residential properties were searched in Letterkenny, Ballybofey, Castlefin and St Johnston.<\/p>\n<p>The searches were carried out by Donegal Divisional Drugs unit supported by the Armed Support Unit, Dog Unit and members from Donegal North Community Engagement and Donegal South Community Engagement.<\/p>\n<p>Almost \u20ac12,000 worth of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.donegaldaily.com\/tag\/drugs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">cocaine and cannabis<\/a> was seized during the operation, along with two designer watches and a number of electronic devices.<\/p>\n<p>The drugs haul was previously valued at approximately <a href=\"https:\/\/www.donegaldaily.com\/news\/donegal-gardai-seize-e11700-of-drugs-following-raids-across-county-643057\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">\u20ac11,700<\/a>, comprising \u20ac10,700 worth of cocaine and \u20ac1,000 worth of cannabis.<\/p>\n<p>The airsoft pistol uncovered during the operation will be forwarded to the Ballistics Section of the Garda Technical Bureau for technical examination.<\/p>\n<p>The seized drugs will also be sent to Forensic Science Ireland for analysis.<\/p>\n<p>A Garda spokesperson has confirmed that no arrests were made and that investigations are ongoing.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"An airsoft pistol was seized during a sweep of Garda raids across Donegal last week.
