{"id":575957,"date":"2026-07-30T19:17:13","date_gmt":"2026-07-30T19:17:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/575957\/"},"modified":"2026-07-30T19:17:13","modified_gmt":"2026-07-30T19:17:13","slug":"ireland-deports-six-nigerian-nationals-in-joint-frontex-operation-thurles-information","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/575957\/","title":{"rendered":"Ireland Deports Six Nigerian Nationals In Joint Frontex Operation. \u00ab Thurles Information"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Irish Government has confirmed the deportation of six Nigerian nationals, following a coordinated return operation involving Irish authorities and the European Border and Coast Guard Agency, Frontex.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The six men, all aged between 25 and 40, were removed from Ireland on a charter flight from Dublin Airport to Rome before joining a Frontex-managed flight to Lagos, Nigeria.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/Law.jpg\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"500\" height=\"149\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/Law.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-93198\"   \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Dublin flight departed at 7:40 a.m. and arrived in Rome at 10:34 a.m. Irish time. The onward flight left Rome shortly after 1:00 p.m. and landed in Lagos at approximately 9:00 p.m.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to the Government, deportation orders had been issued against all six individuals. Five of the men had accumulated a combined total of 35 criminal convictions and had received sentences for a range of offences.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Officials said the operation formed part of ongoing efforts to enforce immigration laws, remove individuals involved in criminal activity and maintain public confidence in Ireland\u2019s immigration system.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Government also highlighted the operational and financial benefits of working with Frontex and other European partners on joint return operations.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Members of An Garda S\u00edoch\u00e1na accompanied the deportees, alongside medical personnel, an interpreter and an independent human rights observer.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The aircraft used for the Irish stage of the operation cost \u20ac76,895, excluding VAT.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\">Further charter
