<\/p>\nSix of Emmerdale\u2019s key female characters are heading for trouble as the ITV soap launches a special season that is set to change the Dales as we know it. <\/p>\n
Emmerdale: Women of Power and Peril is being set up for the rest of the summer, with Gabby, Charity, Dawn, Sarah, Serena and Sadie all taking centre stage across a string of storylines that will test every aspect of their lives. <\/p>\n
Emmerdale\u2019s producer Laura Shaw said of the upcoming plans: “From explosive secrets that shatter lives to dangerous new allegiances that threaten to tear the village apart, this season promises to be one of our most intense yet.<\/p>\n
“The village is set for a dramatic transformation, and we can\u2019t wait for our audience to see the peril these characters face.”<\/p>\n

In the case of Gabby (Rosie Bentham) her eating disorder storyline is set to play out<\/a>, with her orthorexia about to spiral out of control as she obsesses over the food she eats. <\/p>\n Speaking previously about the story, Rosie shared: “I think the future is more bleak than bright with this behaviour. <\/p>\n “While she has found stability in her business, the dark tunnel she is going down is extreme. <\/p>\n “She is making food the ‘villain’ – for example, not wanting Thomas at a party because of the menu. It is consuming her whole brain.”<\/p>\n But when a terrible incident occurs, she\u2019s left with a moral decision to make which could destroy the life of those she cares about. <\/p>\n Rosie Bentham as Gabby Thomas.\u00a0ITV<\/p>\n To make matters worse, Dawn (Olivia Bromley) is getting ready to marry husband-to-be Joe Tate (Ned Porteous)<\/a>, though it\u2019s becoming clear she\u2019s still harbouring feelings for her ex – and Gabby\u2019s boyfriend- Billy (Jay Kontzle).<\/p>\n As she finds herself in the middle of a growing feud and feeling forced into the corner, Dawn has a choice to make \u2013 her present life, or a new future? <\/p>\n Meanwhile Charity (Emma Atkins) is desperate to protect her family, and finds herself caught in a web of lies that threatens to shatter everything she holds dear. <\/p>\n Ultimately it leads to a confession that rocks the village to its core.<\/p>\n We also have the return of Sadie (Patsy Kensit), who is back on her own personal mission \u2013 much to the surprise of residents who didn\u2019t think they\u2019d see her again. <\/p>\n Michael Parr as Ross Barton and Casey Al-Shaqsy as Serena Sugden.\u00a0ITV<\/p>\n But Sadie arrives with news, and when she spills a massive secret, the village is left reeling with what she\u2019s revealed. <\/p>\n Things aren\u2019t going much better over with the Sugdens, either. <\/p>\n Sarah (Katie Hill) will be pushed to the edge as she struggles to hold it together<\/a>.
