2026 Electric Ireland GAA Minor Star Hurling Team of the Year.<\/p>\nCork forward Bobby Power has been included in an Electric Ireland GAA Minor Star Hurling Team of the Year dominated by All-Ireland champions Limerick.<\/p>\n
The Ballincollig club man was a sub for the Rebels’ first two provincial games but shone once promoted to the starting 15 and assumed free-taking duties. He was on song from play and placed balls throughout the campaign and grabbed two goals in the All-Ireland semi-final loss to Tipperary.\u00a0<\/p>\n
He has been a consistent performer for his club in both codes at underage, winning hurling silverware at U12 and U15 and a host of football medals including a F\u00e9ile.<\/p>\n
Power follows in the footsteps of another Collig hurler David O’Leary, who was picked in the 2023 team and involved with the Cork U20s in recent seasons. His first cousin Darragh Power hurls for Dublin.<\/p>\n
Four Leesiders made the minor All-Star team in 2025: Russell Rovers’ Darragh Heavin, Michael Tadhg Brosnan from the Glen, Colm Garde (Lisgoold) and Cormac Deane, the son of Cork and Killeagh legend Joe.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Cork dominated the 2021 minor All-Stars after winning the All-Ireland in style with nine young hurlers included. Fr O’Neill’s keeper Paudie O\u2019Sullivan, Darragh O\u2019Sullivan (Ballinhassig), Ballygarvan defender Kevin Lyons, the Barrs’ Ben O\u2019Connor, who is now with Munster Rugby, Cobh’s Timmy Wilk, Mikey Finn, the Midleton midfielder, the Barrs’ William Buckley and Lisgoold’s Diarmuid Healy, were picked along with Jack Leahy from Dungourney, who was the Hurler of the Year.<\/p>\n
In the first year of the awards when Cork were All-Ireland runners-up, Midleton’s Se\u00e1n O’Leary Hayes, Na Piarsaigh dynamo Daire Connery, Kildorrery’s James Keating and up front Brian Roche and Brian Turnbull made the cut. Douglas inside forward Turnbull was picked as Hurler of the Year though suffered a cruciate injury on club duty soon after.<\/p>\n
Robert Downey, then lining out as a full-forward target man, made the most progress at senior level from crop.<\/p>\n
Also in that highly-gifted 2017 minor All-Star line-up were Kilkenny ace Adrian Mullen, Dublin footballer Lee Gannon, Clare’s Aidan McCarthy, Dublin forward Se\u00e1n Currie and current Galway starters Darrach Fahy and Darren Morrissey.<\/p>\n
This term, the Treaty ended a 42-year wait to claim their first minor title since 1984, snatching victory from Munster rivals Tipp in a dramatic finish at TUS Gaelic Grounds, with seven included in the All-Star line-up.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The beaten finalists have five selections, with semi-finalists Cork and Galway earning one pick each. Dicksboro’s Joe Dowling completes the side, despite Kilkenny bowing out in the quarter-final.<\/p>\n

Player of the Year is Limerick\u2019s midfield powerhouse, Xavier Neligan. The Kilmallock man was sensational in the semi-final win over Galway, scoring 1-2, while in the final, Neligan’s industry was crucial in keeping Limerick in the hunt before he made a heroic, game-saving block on a last-gasp Tipperary shot to secure the Irish Press Cup.<\/p>\n

“The talent, skill, and sheer drama on display throughout this year’s championship was wonderful to witness, culminating in that unforgettable All-Ireland final between Limerick and Tipperary.\u00a0<\/p>\n
