The six-episode series will pick up three decades after the original 1995 film, following Cher as a successful businesswoman and mother whose daughter’s teenage years leave her feeling “clueless” all over again. <\/p>\n
Filming is expected to begin in Los Angeles in 2027. <\/p>\n
The project was originally in development at Peacock before moving to Paramount+, the home of the original film. <\/p>\n
Silverstone will also serve as an executive producer alongside Clueless writer and director Amy Heckerling and producer Robert Lawrence. <\/p>\n
The new series is being written by Josh Schwartz, Stephanie Savage and Jordan Weiss, with Paramount+ describing the production as a homecoming for one of its most beloved franchises. <\/p>\n
No additional cast members have been announced. <\/p>\n
Released in 1995, Clueless became a defining teen comedy of the decade, loosely inspired by Jane Austen’s Emma. <\/p>\n
