Mark\u00e9ta Irglov\u00e1 has offered her condolences to the family of her friend, former partner, and Swell Season bandmate Glen Hansard, saying her heart goes out to them following his death.<\/p>\n
In a post on Instagram, the Czech-Icelandic musician wrote: “My deepest condolences to Glen’s family, his brothers and his beautiful wife and son, you are all in my thoughts and prayers.<\/p>\n
“I am so sorry for your tragic loss, my heart goes out to you.<\/p>\n
“May his love always surround you, his spirit guide and protect you, and may his light shine on throughout your days.”<\/p>\n

She concluded:<\/p>\n
“The Lord bless you
and keep you;
the Lord make his face shine on you
and be gracious to you;
the Lord turn his face toward you
and give you peace.”<\/p>\n
Irglov\u00e1 and Hansard won the Academy Award for Best Original Song for the ballad Falling Slowly from the film Once in February 2008.<\/p>\n
As The Swell Season, they recorded three albums together, the most recent of which, Falling Forward, was released in July of last year.<\/p>\n
