Beyond Paradise will officially return for season five as filming gets underway for the BBC crime series. The exciting news was shared with an Instagram post <\/a>of a clapperboard which was captioned: “Anyone spotted a sleuth by the seas? The Shipton Abbott are back on the beat! <\/p>\n

“Filming has begun this week on the latest series of #BeyondParadise.<\/p>\n

“Sunny shores, secrets to solve and scones to scoff – everything you could possibly want on another adventure to Devon and Cornwall. Beyond Paradise will be back on @bbciplayer and @bbcone soon!” <\/p>\n

The announcement follows Archie Hughes actor Jamie Bamber’s new appointment on the BBC soap Eastenders, also announced today<\/a> (31 July). Fans of the show have already begun sharing their concerns regarding his future on the show in the comment section. <\/p>\n

“I’m a bit worried about poor Esther (Zahra Ahmadi) now that Jamie Bamber has been cast in Eastenders!! More heartache?” wrote one fan, referring to Archie’s will-they-won’t-they love story which finally landed its happy ending in the latest season as the two characters reunited after a season’s worth of uncertainty. <\/p>\n

Digital Spy reached out the BBC for comment and can confirm that Bamber will be reprising the role of Archie in season five more on that here<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Kris Marshall will of course return as DI Humphrey Goodman and he is expected to be joined by Sally Bretton as Martha, Zahra Ahmadi as Esther Williams, Dylan Llewellyn as PC Kelby Hartford, Felicity Montagu as Margo Martins and Barbara Flynn as Anne Lloyd.<\/p>\n

However Melina Sinadinou’s future on the show as Esther’s daughter Zoe is up in the air following the character’s exit last season. <\/p>\n

During the season four finale<\/a> Zoe to set off on her travels to the fictional town of Dolphin Cove, where Return to Paradise is set, hinting very heavily at the possibilities of a spin-off. <\/p>\n

No details have been given pertaining to the direction of the narrative for season five but it is expected that more bonkers mysteries and strange occurrences will continue to befall the residence of Shipton Abbott.<\/p>\n

Beyond Paradise, Death in Paradise and Return to Paradise air on BBC One and stream on BBC iPlayer.<\/p>\n
