TG4 All-Ireland Junior Championship final <\/p>\n
Antrim v Carlow; Croke Park, 11.45am \u2013 Live on TG4<\/a><\/p>\n REDEMPTION for Antrim or glory for first-time finalists Carlow? All will be revealed at Croke Park as the counties go head-to-head for TG4 All-Ireland Junior Championship glory.<\/p>\n Antrim are carrying the hurt of defeat to Louth on the big day last year and that will act as a powerful motivator. For Carlow, there\u2019s no previous baggage and they\u2019ve finally managed to qualify for an All-Ireland final at Croke Park, after a series of semi-final near misses in recent times.<\/p>\n Antrim have appeared in TG4 All-Ireland Junior finals previously in 2025, 2022, 2021, 2016, 2012 and 2009. They\u2019ve lifted the West County Hotel on three occasions \u2013 2022, 2012 and 2009 \u2013 and they\u2019ll look to tap into past experience to get themselves over the line. After losing the 2021 final to Wicklow, Antrim were back a year later to get their hands on the silverware. Following a draw with Fermanagh at Croke Park, the Saffrons got the job done in a replay at the BOX-IT Athletic Grounds in Armagh.<\/p>\n Antrim built on that and went on to contest an Intermediate semi-final in 2023. They suffered relegation in 2024, however, before going close to promotion again last year. Now, they find themselves just 60 minutes away from Intermediate championship football once again, with Carlow also looking to move up a Championship grade.<\/p>\n It\u2019s already been a good year for both counties. In the Lidl National League, Carlow sealed promotion to Division 3, before adding Division 4 silverware with victory over Leitrim. In Division 3, Antrim were busy gaining promotion, although they did suffer defeat to Louth in the divisional final. Nevertheless, ensuring Division 2 football in 2027 is a remarkable achievement for Antrim, and further evidence of ongoing development and improvement.<\/p>\n Sunday\u2019s battle for the silverware on offer \u2013 and promotion to boot \u2013 will ensure that TG4 All-Ireland Finals day gets off to a storming start.<\/p>\n This promises to be a cracking game between two teams with plenty of scoring threat and solid defensive ability.<\/p>\n In their provincial championships, Carlow landed the Leinster title, as Antrim ruled the roost in Ulster.<\/p>\n Moving onto the All-Ireland series, both teams topped their respective groups. Three wins out of four saw Antrim finish at the summit of Group A, while Carlow were three from three in Group B.<\/p>\n Those group standings saw Antrim pitted with Sligo at the semi-final stage, as was the case in 2025, while Carlow were paired with Derry.<\/p>\n Both of Sunday\u2019s \u00a0finalists enjoyed impressive wins at the penultimate stage, with Antrim\u2019s Maria O\u2019Neill scoring 3-5 in victory over Sligo, while Carlow scored three goals in a two-minute spell en route to victory over Derry.<\/p>\n Heading into the final, the star turn for Antrim in the scoring stakes has been O\u2019Neill, who leads the race for the ZuCar Golden Boot award, the prize for the top scorer across the Senior, Intermediate and Junior grades. Ahead of throw-in, O\u2019Neill stands on a whopping 11-16 (49 points) and she has the chance to strengthen her grip on the coveted individual award before her nearest challenger, Fermanagh\u2019s Eimear Smyth, lines out in the Intermediate decider.<\/p>\n Aoife Taggart (5-5), captain Bronagh Devlin (4-8), Theresa Mellon (2-9) and Aoibhinn Monaghan (1-8) are other players who have contributed handsomely to the Antrim cause during the All-Ireland series.<\/p>\n On the Carlow side, Sara Doyle (2-13) leads the way in the scoring stakes, with Cl\u00edodhna N\u00ed Sh\u00e9 (3-9), Aibha Kiernan (3-7), Bronagh Nolan (2-1) and Aoibhinn Webb (0-7) also showing up well.<\/p>\n With the action getting underway at 11.45am, this is a game well worth getting in early for.<\/p>\n It remains to be seen now whether it\u2019s Antrim\u2019s Bronagh Devlin or her Carlow counterpart, R\u00f3is\u00edn Bailey, who will climb the steps of the Hogan Stand to lift the trophy at full-time. Following their respective semi-final wins, both teams have announced unchanged starting teams.<\/p>\n ANTRIM: A Devlin; E Kearns, M Blaney, M Mulholland; L Agnew, D Coleman, C McKenna; L Dahunsi, \u00c1 Tubridy; T Mellon, B Devlin (capt.), A Davidson; E Louise McAreavey, M O\u2019Neill, O Prenter.<\/p>\n CARLOW: N Hanley; A Carroll, A Roche, S O\u2019Neill; A Webb, N Forde, R Bermingham; R Bailey (capt.), C O\u2019Neill; E Hayden, C N\u00ed Sh\u00e9, A Hanley; B Nolan, S Doyle, A Kiernan.<\/p>\n TG4 All-Ireland Intermediate Championship final <\/p>\n Fermanagh v Roscommon; Croke Park, 1.45pm \u2013 Live on TG4<\/a><\/p>\n ROSCOMMON are unchanged ahead of Sunday\u2019s TG4 All-Ireland Intermediate final \u2013 as Fermanagh opt for two switches.<\/p>\n For Fermanagh, Sinead Barrett and Bronagh Smyth come into the starting line-up, in place of Caitriona Breen and Caoimhe Gallagher.<\/p>\n Two excellent teams are preparing to battle it out for the 2026 TG4 All-Ireland Intermediate title, in what promises to be a fascinating decider between two counties hungry for success.<\/p>\n This is a novel final pairing in this grade, as Fermanagh, runners-in 2014 and 2009, take on 2005 champions Roscommon.<\/p>\n Fermanagh are back at Croke Park again on TG4 All-Ireland Finals day for the second time in three years, and they\u2019ll be aiming for more silverware after landing the Junior title two years ago.<\/p>\n For Roscommon\u2019s ladies, this is a first visit to Croke Park since the 2001 TG4 All-Ireland Junior final victory over Kildare, as the 2005 Intermediate decider against Down was played at St Loman\u2019s in Mullingar.<\/p>\n With the Mary Quinn Memorial Cup on offer, along with the prospect of Senior Championship fare in 2026, the stakes could hardly be higher for either side.<\/p>\n In their respective semi-finals, many would have viewed Sunday\u2019s finalists as underdogs, but they came through in style \u2013 Roscommon overcoming Westmeath, while Fermanagh emerged past the challenge of Down.<\/p>\n Both teams appear to be peaking at exactly the right time, when you consider that Fermanagh didn\u2019t even contest the TG4 Ulster Final, while Roscommon were well beaten by Leitrim in the Connacht decider.<\/p>\n Neither of Sunday\u2019s finalists topped their respective qualifier groups in the All-Ireland series, but they\u2019ve built up a considerable head of steam since then. Roscommon avenged their provincial final defeat to Leitrim at the All-Ireland quarter-final stage, while Fermanagh performed impressively against Clare in their last-eight tie \u2013 both results signalling genuine improvement under pressure.<\/p>\n That form carried both teams to their aforementioned semi-finals, with Fermanagh prevailing by two points against Down, and Roscommon having four points to spare on Westmeath.<\/p>\n Scoring power will go a long way towards deciding Sunday\u2019s final and in Eimear Smyth, Fermanagh have the leading sharpshooter in the TG4 All-Ireland Intermediate Championship. Smyth, the 2024 ZuCar Golden Boot winner for the leading scorer across the Junior, Senior and Intermediate grades, is in the hunt for the prize again as she\u2019s currently on 4-30 (42 points) ahead of throw-in, seven points adrift of leader Maria O\u2019Neill from Antrim.<\/p>\n Smyth is a big-game player too, as evidenced in the Junior Final of 2024, when the Derrygonnelly Harps ace landed the Player of the Match award on the back of a 1-9 haul.<\/p>\n Fermanagh have other players capable of stepping up to the mark, including Joanne Doonan, another hugely experienced campaigner who has scored 1-7 to date. Sin\u00e9ad Barrett (0-6) and Sarah Britton (1-2) have also contributed to the scoring cause, but Smyth remains undoubtedly the player Roscommon will need to pay most attention to.<\/p>\n The Rossies themselves have players who\u2019ll need close watching. Aisling Feely has registered 1-23 to date in the All-Ireland campaign, while Caoimhe Lennon has chipped in with 4-5.
