{"id":578690,"date":"2026-08-01T10:35:11","date_gmt":"2026-08-01T10:35:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/578690\/"},"modified":"2026-08-01T10:35:11","modified_gmt":"2026-08-01T10:35:11","slug":"ireland-to-experience-biggest-solar-eclipse-in-decades-this-month","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/578690\/","title":{"rendered":"Ireland to experience biggest solar eclipse in decades this month"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">People across Ireland are being encouraged to look to the skies on August 12 as the country prepares for its largest solar eclipse since 1999.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The near-total eclipse will begin at around 6.15pm, reaching its peak just over an hour later before ending shortly after 8pm.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It will be the most <a href=\"https:\/\/esero.ie\/eclipse26\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">significant eclipse<\/a> visible from Ireland until 2090.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/GettyImages-836701232.jpg\" alt=\"eclipse\" class=\"wp-image-168637\"  \/>The totality stage of the Solar Eclipse over The United States.
