The Ascot Stakes sixth was one paced over the longer trip at the Royal meeting but might prefer running at a stronger gallop here from off the pace or sitting close to the speed. A mark of 92 is workable for me albeit he\u2019s a lot higher than when doing well for Gary & Josh Moore. An each-way chance in a race that should be run at a true gallop.<\/p>\n A handicap over 1m. A decent handicap this. NORTHERN EXPRESS is very capable over course and distance and might have too much pace for some of these. He was back to form at York last time over 7f off 95 and now goes off 97 over 1m. However, he won the Thirsk Hunt Cup here back in 2023 off 92 so he\u2019s bang in the mix once again. Connor Beasley takes the ride for Michael Dods.<\/p>\n The Group 3 Glorious Stakes for older horses over 1m4f. OPPORTUNITY is the young improver in here and the Duke of Edinburgh winner is only 4lb below stable companion Al Aasy in the ratings after a 10lb hike for his Royal Ascot success. James Doyle rides for William Haggas and I just feel connections have found a good opportunity. Plenty of question marks over some of his higher rated rivals.<\/p>\n Up in class now for the Group 2 Lillie Langtry for fillies and mares over 1m6f. SANTORINI STAR will take some catching if back to the form that saw him finish second to Caballo de Mar in the Prix Vicomtesse Vigier. He\u2019s a tough sort for William Haggas and forget his run in the Hardwicke when he didn\u2019t have the pace to go forward in a race full of speed. He has the chance to dictate here under Tom Marquand.<\/p>\n 15.35 Goodwood \u2013 Run Boy Run<\/a> (each-way)<\/p>\n The big betting race of the week in the Stewards\u2019 Cup over 6f. Phil Cunningham and Richard Spencer did this column a right turn with Twilight Calls earlier in the week and it\u2019s their horse who was well beaten in that event, RUN BOY RUN, might go well at a huge price. Last year\u2019s Ayr Gold Cup hero will have to be right on his game off a mark of 103, but all the leading contenders are pretty exposed as well.<\/p>\n Run Boy Run never quite got the run he wanted on Tuesday, but he kept on well in the closing stages suggesting he\u2019s bang in form without having a hard race. 6f is no issue of course and he goes on any ground. Added to all that he has a great stall in 24, and he was fourth last year from stall 25. He\u2019s massively overpriced. STARTLED likes the track and should get a strong pace to run at so must have each-way claims for Richard Hughes and Harry Vigors, who takes off a useful 5lb. The gelding was a fine second over course and distance in May off 85 and with his jockey claims he effectively goes here off 82. From a high number he can hopefully drop out and come with a late rattle.<\/p>\n So best of luck and pray for Yeeehaaas.
