A man, aged in his 80s, and a woman, aged in her 70s, were seriously injured in a crash in Co Laois on Friday night.<\/p>\n
Garda\u00ed are appealing for witnesses following the serious collision on the L7797 near Moat, Ballinakill, Co Laois on Friday.<\/p>\n
The collision involved two cars and occurred at approximately 10.15pm.<\/p>\n
A male driver, aged in his 80s, and a female passenger, aged in her 70s, were taken to Midland Regional Hospital Tullamore for treatment of serious injuries.<\/p>\n
The driver of the second car left the scene and garda\u00ed are seeking to identify this person.<\/p>\n
The road is currently closed pending examination by Garda forensic collision investigators.<\/p>\n
Local diversions are in place.<\/p>\n
Garda\u00ed are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision to come forward.<\/p>\n
Road users who were travelling in the vicinity of the L7797 Moat, Ballinakill between 10pm and 11pm on Friday and who may have camera footage (including dash-cam), are asked to make this footage available to garda\u00ed.<\/p>\n
