{"id":579704,"date":"2026-08-02T02:51:12","date_gmt":"2026-08-02T02:51:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/579704\/"},"modified":"2026-08-02T02:51:12","modified_gmt":"2026-08-02T02:51:12","slug":"ballyshannon-native-confirmed-as-new-high-court-judge-by-president-connolly","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/579704\/","title":{"rendered":"Ballyshannon native confirmed as new High Court Judge by President Connolly"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Ballyshannon&#8217;s Cathleen Noctor has been named as one of three new High Court Judges.<\/p>\n<p>Her appointment was confirmed at a ceremony at \u00c1ras an Uachtar\u00e1in this week by President Catherine Connolly.<\/p>\n<p>She was appointed to the High Court bench alongside Justice Michael James Conlon and Justice S\u00e9amus Given.<\/p>\n<p>A former Senior Counsel who practiced law in the Dublin area for three decades, she was nominated for the role by the Government in July.<\/p>\n<p>Cathleen is a native of the Creevy area and attended the Convent of Mercy in Ballyshannon.<\/p>\n<p>She completed her law studies at UCD and King&#8217;s Inns before being admitted to the bar in 1998.<\/p>\n<p>Specialising in criminal law, Cathleen was admitted to the upper bar in 2018.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Ballyshannon&#8217;s Cathleen Noctor has been named as one of three new High Court Judges.
