I\u2019m taking on Timurshah in the opener at Galway on Sunday. He\u2019s been impressive in each of his last three starts, but he\u2019s taken a huge hike in the handicap, and this is a competitive contest. I\u2019ve landed on the UK runner, WAHRAAN, who has a really interesting profile. He chased home Cock And Bull on the flat at this track on Wednesday, off a mark of 73. His hurdles mark of 108 should leave him with a fair bit in hand, and he\u2019s still unexposed in this discipline. He broke his maiden at Market Rasen in May, and this is his handicap debut. He\u2019s a real lurker, and I\u2019ll be with him each-way.<\/p>\n ROCKY\u2019S HOWYA does sometimes struggle in handicaps, but he\u2019s been revitalised since reverting to claiming company. He\u2019s been running up to his official rating in those contests, and he won a handicap chase off a 1lb higher mark in March. Declan Queally trains and rides, and he\u2019s already had a winner at Galway this week. He gave this one a really good shout in his post-race interview, which caught my attention. I\u2019ll take a chance on him in a trappy affair.<\/p>\n Although it seems obvious, I\u2019m with GOLDEN TEMPLE. He\u2019s another runner who\u2019s already had a run this week, also finishing second, behind Declan Queally\u2019s winner! That was off a hurdles mark of 107, and he reverts to chasing off the same mark, and he looks well-in based on his earlier run. He won well at Kilbeggan on his penultimate start, and he\u2019s still very unexposed over fences. If he can continue to improve over the larger obstacles, as his pedigree would suggest, he\u2019s definitely the one to side with.<\/p>\n Ms Eleanor Broderick saddles LISLEIGH LAD, who has some really solid form over the past few months. He was second behind Harbour Highway at Leopardstown back in March, and ran well in a conditions race at Listowel two starts back. His latest run was very pleasing when beating Nouvotic, travelling really well and finishing strongly. That form was franked when the runner-up finished sixth in the Galway Plate, and he\u2019s another unexposed chaser I fancy on Sunday. If he arrives in the same form, he\u2019ll be very, very hard to beat.<\/p>\n I\u2019m throwing two darts at another cracking renewal of the Ahonoora.<\/p>\n First up is DUNUM for Natalia Lupini, who ran in the Galway Mile on Tuesday evening. That was his first run in almost a year, and he was entitled to need it. He won that race last year, and loves it around this track. He\u2019s shown that he can back up quickly, finishing third in this contest last year after winning the mile. He should be spot on for this after his pipe-opener, and he\u2019ll be a lot sharper on Sunday.<\/p>\n GLENEAGLE BAY isn\u2019t ideally drawn in 17, but he\u2019s always looked like he has a massive handicap in him. He\u2019s another who ran on Tuesday and was a huge eye-catcher, stuck along the rail. He had nowhere to go, and found trouble when trying to get out, so if he can get a clearer passage, he could hit the frame. <\/p>\n This is a really interesting race, with THARAKA really catching the eye. Trained by Emmet Mullins and owned by the Mee family, it would be no surprise if this has been the plan ever since they got this filly. She makes her handicap debut off a mark of 66, and everything points toward a big run. Some of her maiden form has worked out well, and Emmet is a maestro at targeting races like this.
