Emmerdale’s Joe Tate has a tough week ahead of him after being arrested following the attack on Billy Fletcher<\/a>. Last Thursday’s (30 July) episode ended with Billy being left for dead not long after trying to kiss his ex Dawn.<\/p>\n

He was found in the depot the next morning by Kerry and Jai, who phoned and an ambulance but also called Caleb to get rid of some counterfeit car parts.<\/p>\n

At the hospital Billy was found to have a serious brain bleed and needed surgery, with Dawn rushing to his side. <\/p>\n

The police later told Caleb and Kerry that they believe Billy had been the victim of a violent attack. This led to Caleb admitting that Joe had been at the depot that day and was angry about Billy and Dawn’s kiss. <\/p>\n

Joe was later arrested<\/a> on suspicion of grievous bodily harm, as he tried to protest his innocence to Dawn. <\/p>\n

In a clip for Monday’s episode (3 August), Joe is feeling restless after spending a night in the cells, before a detective comes in to bring him for questioning.<\/p>\n

Joe asks how long he’ll be held and is told it depends how much he’s willing to tell police. Joe continues to protest his innocence, saying: “I had nothing to do with what happened to Billy.”<\/p>\n

Joe is not the only person in the frame for Billy’s attack, as viewers know Billy’s ex Gabby Thomas and Graham Foster both have motives and, suspiciously, Caleb wasn’t able to find CCTV footage of the attack. <\/p>\n

Further spoilers for next week have shown that Gabby will find out about Billy and Dawn’s recent kiss.<\/p>\n

Our Emmerdale source teased<\/a>: “The fallout from Billy’s attack brings revelations to light. Although it may seem petty now, Gabby is still livid to learn that Billy tried to kiss Dawn shortly before he ended their own relationship.<\/p>\n

“Although Dawn pushed Billy away, could Gabby still unfairly blame her rival for the betrayal?”<\/p>\n

Our source adds: “It’s still touch and go for Billy, and Joe is fearing for his own future as he’s the police’s prime suspect! But did he attack Billy?”<\/p>\n
