The next iteration of this smartwatch comes with an aesthetic overhaul, opting for a more minimalistic design over the Watch 7. While the new look may not appeal to everyone, it does make the Galaxy Watch 8 a more appealing design, especially for occasions where a sporty smartwatch would look out of place.

But it’s not just looks that the Galaxy Watch 8 receives an upgrade in. Samsung’s health and tracking sensors and apps have always been top-notch, and that continues to be the case with the Galaxy 8. With the latest smartwatch, you also get new features such as an Antioxidant Index and Vascular Load tracker. These may not be features used every day, but they can offer more stats to the data-hungry health nerd. Regardless, the standard health features continue to be fantastic here, and you can be sure it’ll track workouts, sleep, and more without difficulties.

                    Related

Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 review: I’m smitten, and think you will be too

I never expected to feel like this

If you already have the Galaxy Watch 7, however, you may want to hold off on upgrading. It can launch the exercise tracking by default but can also trigger an alarm and turn on the built-in flashlight, stopwatch, or water-locking feature. There are some caveats to consider. Despite having 10ATM waterproofing, you can only swim with the watch rather than use it for water sports. Smaller wrists will also have a problem, given the Ultra’s size, which explains why only medium/large bands are available.

      Case Material

           Metal

      Display

           AMOLED

      Storage

           256MB

      Wi-Fi connectivity

           Yes

      Bluetooth

           Yes

Nothing’s latest smartwatch does budget right with a stylish look and all of the important sensors and trackers.

Pros & Cons

$100 price point is significantly cheaper than most smartwatch options
Great battery life, up to 4 days with an Always On screen
IP68 water resistance keeps the watch safe

Nothing X app has its fair share of issues
Doesn’t use WearOS

Smartwatches are, without a doubt, expensive. If you’re just getting into them (or simply don’t have the funds to drop hundreds on a wearable), the CMF Watch 3 Pro from Nothing offers a good balance between features and price.

The CMF Watch 3 Pro offers all the sensors and trackers you’ve come to expect, such as sleep monitoring and heart rate tracking. You’ll also get an Active Score so you can keep track of your health from day to day. Finally, AI features make it easy to call someone, get an update on the news, and perform plenty of other functions one-handed.

But when it comes to a budget smartwatch, you’ll need to make some sacrifices. The biggest sacrifice for Nothing’s smartwatch is that it doesn’t use WearOS—the CMF Watch 3 Pro uses an OS that Nothing developed itself. This, on its own, is only a disappointment if you wanted third-party app support, but the problem is that the Nothing X App doesn’t work seamlessly. You’ll need to deal with some hiccups with the OS and app if you decide to pick this smartwatch up, but for the price, it can be worth the small annoyance.

            Source: Google

      Case size

           41mm; 45mm

      Case Material

           Aluminum

      CPU

           Qualcomm Snapdragon W5 with Cortex M33 co-processor

The Google Pixel Watch 3 is a fine-tuned smartwatch that’s better in nearly ever way compared to its predecessor. The Amazfit app also tracks everything well, and the Readiness score can offer insight on whether you should take it easy today or not.

                    Related

Review: Amazfit’s T-Rex 3 rugged watch is an apex predator that won’t eat your entire wallet

There are some compromises but no deal-breakers

However, Amazfit watches don’t use WearOS; instead, the company uses Zepp OS. While this doesn’t play a significant role in tracking, it does limit third-party apps. You won’t be able to boot up Spotify, and syncing some of your smartphone’s functions is possible, but it’s not seamless and can have issues. The lack of WearOS may be a dealbreaker depending on how you use your smartwatch, so make sure to decide if Zepp OS does everything you need it to before diving in.

            Source: Garmin

      Case size

           51mm

      Case Material

           Fiber-reinforced polymer

      Display

           1.4” (35.56 mm) diameter Sunlight-visible, transflective memory-in-pixel (MIP)

      Display resolution

           280 x 280 pixels

Garmin’s new longest-lasting smartwatch is the Enduro 3, which brings many improvements over its predecessor — and it’s cheaper. The watch supports GPS, GLONASS, GALILEO, and others. Plus, the Enduro 3 includes plenty of sensors and now uses Garmin’s Elevate Gen5 optical heart rate sensor. But it lacks a few smart features compared to the Fenix 8, like a microphone and speaker, but packs all the same software offerings.

Pros & Cons

Great battery life, with solar charging options
Trackers and software are solid and work well

Very expensive compared to our other picks

Rugged smartwatches meant for extreme outdoor excursions have been growing in popularity in recent years, so there’s no shortage of them to choose from. Several of our picks already represent that shift, such as the Galaxy Watch Ultra and the Amazfit T-Rex 3. But, if you want the best of the best for rugged adventuring, you’ll want Garmin, and the Euduro 3 is currently the best watch in their lineup.

The Garmin Enduro 3 is, simply put, built for the adventurous. It tracks your location, workouts, and other important statistics, giving you any information you need when you’re off the beaten path. You’ll also get some useful stats with the Body Battery score, which gives you an idea of whether you should take it easy for the day or if you’re ready for the next adventure. The smartwatch even has solar charging abilities, and you can go up to 90 days of charge if you’re using solar charging effectively.

                    Related

Review: The Garmin Enduro 3 is cheaper, lighter, and might be a Fenix 8 killer

The month-long battery life is a bonus

But one thing to note is that you will be paying for this sort of smartwatch. Our review mentions that the Enduro 3 is less expensive than the Garmin Fenix 8 Solar. But, the Enduro 3 is still $900, and that makes this Garmin smartwatch one you’ll want to think about before picking up. However, if the feature set fits your bill, the cost will be worth it.

What’s the best Android watch you can buy?

Two smartwatches sit at the top of the Android lineup: the Samsung Galaxy Watch8 and Watch Ultra. Both are iterative in their own ways, but they integrate cutting-edge software with top-of-the-line hardware when you consider their bright displays, excellent health-tracking features, and app integration.

Do you prefer a unique design? The Google Pixel Watch 3 is a good choice. A sleek design and speedy internals guarantee a slick user experience. Oversized bezels take away some of the immersion when interacting with the screen, but the watch guarantees a clean and updated user experience.Do you prefer long battery life over aesthetics with Wear OS? OnePlus’s Watch 3 has an incredible battery life, with up to 16 days if you use battery saver mode.

The Garmin Enduro 3 trounces most competitors by several days in battery life and offers some of the most comprehensive fitness tracking features. Even though they run on a different OS, you’ll have a hard time finding another watch that can go for over a week before it needs a recharge.

You could also save some cash by going for the CMF Watch Pro 3. It offers solid features at a fraction of the price of others on this list.

      Case size

           40mm/44mm

      Display

           1.3-inch/1.5-inch Super AMOLED

      Display resolution

           438 x 438

The Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 includes new health and wellness features along with AI-enhanced features and more intuitive customization options.

Pros & Cons

           Minimalist, yet striking design
Samsung’s health features continue to be top notch
The smartwatch is lightweight, making it easy to wear

Lacking an IP water resistance rating
Battery only lasts about a day

Android smartwatches have come a long way and are more capable than ever.
