A man has died and a woman has been seriously injured after a collision in Pettigo, Co Donegal this afternoon.<\/p>\n
The collision between a car and a 4×4 vehicle happened at around 2.45pm on the R232 at Fincashel.<\/p>\n
The driver, a man in his 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene. His body was taken to the mortuary at University Hospital Letterkenny.<\/p>\n
The coroner has been notified and a post-mortem examination will be arranged.<\/p>\n
A passenger in the car, a woman in her 20s, was brought to hospital with serious injuries.<\/p>\n
The driver and sole occupant of the 4×4, a man in his 60s, was brought to hospital for assessment.<\/p>\n
The road has been closed for forensic examination with local diversions in place.<\/p>\n
Garda\u00ed are appealing for anyone who was travelling in the area at the time of the collision to come forward.<\/p>\n
They are particluarly interested in hearing from anyone with camera footage, including dash cam or mobile phone recordings.<\/p>\n
