A man has died, and a woman is seriously\u00a0injured after a two-vehicle crash in Pettigo, Co. Donegal, on Sunday afternoon.<\/p>\n
The crash on the R232 at Fincashel, involving a car and a 4×4 vehicle, occurred at around 2:45 pm.<\/p>\n
The driver of the car, a man in his 20s, was pronounced deceased at the scene. His body has been taken to the mortuary at University Hospital Letterkenny.<\/p>\n
A passenger in the car, a woman in her 20s, was transported to hospital with serious injuries.<\/p>\n
The driver and sole occupant of the second vehicle, a man in his 60s, was also brought to hospital for assessment only.<\/p>\n
The road is closed for examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and local traffic diversions are in place.<\/p>\n
The Coroner has been notified, and a post-mortem examination will be arranged.<\/p>\n
Garda\u00ed are appealing to anyone who may have been travelling on the R232 near Pettigo at the time of the collision to come forward.<\/p>\n
Road users who may have camera footage (including dash cam or mobile phone recordings) are asked to make this footage available to investigating garda\u00ed.<\/p>\n
