Emmerdale returnee Patsy Kensit<\/a> has praised show bosses for their caring approach behind the scenes \u2013 candidly pointing out that such support is never guaranteed in the TV industry.<\/p>\n

The star has recently returned to filming<\/a> in her role as scheming Sadie King, 20 years since the manipulative character last appeared on our screens.<\/p>\n

Speaking about her comeback for the first time, Patsy revealed that it’s not just her dramatic new soap storylines that have impressed her \u2013 the positive atmosphere at Emmerdale HQ is all part of the appeal too.<\/p>\n

Chatting to Digital Spy and other media at a recent Emmerdale press event, Patsy explained: “I’m totally grateful to be back. I knew there would be days that were overwhelming, but the professionalism is second to none. I’ve never worked with a better team of people.<\/p>\n

“I can tell you that, with the care and how the show’s set up, it really does look after its own. It’s wonderful. It’s one of the best places I’ve ever worked and I’m so impressed coming back.”<\/p>\n

She continued: “When I came back, I didn’t know how the cast would be after 20 years. But they have been absolutely brilliant. It’s such a family and the pastoral care has been second to none.<\/p>\n

“You don’t get it on other shows \u2013 [where] they just kick you in the arse and say ‘go on set, hit your line and let’s go home!’<\/p>\n

“All I want is to please everyone on the show \u2013 just get my head down and really go for it so the audience enjoy it. If they do, I’ll have done alright. It would have been awful without the people here, because they’ve been outstanding and everyone’s been so kind to me.”<\/p>\n

Emmerdale bosses announced Patsy’s return two months ago and fans will see her comeback scenes in a few weeks’ time.<\/p>\n

Sadie will be arriving in the village with a shocking secret to share, which is sure to shake up life for the residents.<\/p>\n

Patsy told us: “It’s overwhelming when you come back because it’s such a well-oiled machine. Everyone that works on the show is so good \u2013 the cast, the crew, the hair and make-up department.<\/p>\n

“Emmerdale is the star and we have this amazing ensemble cast. They’ve got such varied backgrounds in the arts and as actors coming into this. I learned so much the first time around.<\/p>\n

“The hardest-working, most professional and some of the best actors I’ve seen, have been working on Emmerdale. I’ve been taught so much, I’ve learned so much and I’m so grateful to have been able to come back and see that it’s still the same.<\/p>\n

“There are still crazy days. I’m terrible as I keep losing things all the time. I’ve lost my pass three times! I was in the car park crying the other night going ‘where’s my pass gone!’, but everyone has just been so wonderful to me.”<\/p>\n

On how it compares to her other recent projects, Patsy laughed: “It’s so glamorous \u2013 at the studio and everything. I’ve been working in films and was stuck on an ice cold beach shooting a movie. So to come back and have a proper make-up room and somewhere warm and dry to change, it means you don’t have to do it behind a bush!”<\/p>\n
