And we\u2019re not talking about rumormongers or gossip rag types, so much as stars Jake Johnson and Lamorne Morris, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.avclub.com\/lamorne-morris-new-girl-blames-jake-johnson-no-reunion\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">who\u2019ve spent<\/a> the last <a href=\"https:\/\/www.avclub.com\/jake-johnson-lamorne-morris-new-girl-reunion-prank-war\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">several years<\/a> vociferously talking shit about each other as part of a long-running joke about whose \u201cfault\u201d it is that the series has never come back. (As far as we know, Johnson got the most recent last word in, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.today.com\/video\/jake-johnson-talks-hitting-the-pickleball-court-for-the-dink-266774085931\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">popping up on Today two weeks ago<\/a>, ostensibly to promote <a href=\"https:\/\/www.avclub.com\/the-dink-review\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">The Dink<\/a>, but with a lot more energy devoted to denouncing Morris for his hatred of both New Girl fans and humanity in general.)<\/p>\n<p>\ufeff<\/p>\n<p>Enter, perhaps inevitably, co-star Max Greenfield, who has now at least sort of tried to clear the air surrounding a project that\u2019s never actually gotten any official confirmation from anyone involved in the show\u2019s production. (For a value of \u201ccleared the air\u201d that included calling both Johnson and Morris \u201cmorons,\u201d naturally.) In fact, Greenfield actually went a lot further on this score than series creator Liz Meriwether, who\u2019s previously couched any talk of a revival in very hypothetical language. \u201cAs far as I know, it\u2019s happening,\u201d Greenfield told Today With Jenna &amp; Sheinelle\u00a0with a certain air of certainty this week, adding that, despite Meriwether\u2019s hedging, he\u2019s seen scripts she\u2019s written for the project, which he dubbed \u201camazing.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>And, again, it\u2019s possible this is all just part of an ever-expanding web of feuds and misinformation running between the show\u2019s (generally super-busy) principal cast members and creators.
