A man in his 20s has died following a road traffic collision in Pettigo.<\/p>\n

The man was driving a vehicle which was involved in a collision with a 4×4 vehicle on the R232 at Fincashel, Pettigo, at around 2:45pm.<\/p>\n

The driver of the car, a male in his 20s, was pronounced deceased at the scene.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The man\u2019s body has been taken to the mortuary at University Hospital Letterkenny.\u00a0<\/p>\n

A passenger in the car, a female in her 20s, was transported to hospital with serious injuries.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The driver and sole occupant of the second vehicle, a male in his 60s, was also brought to hospital for assessment only.<\/p>\n

The road is closed for examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and local traffic diversions are in place.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The coroner for Co Donegal has been notified and a post-mortem examination will be arranged.<\/p>\n

A Garda spokesperson said: \u201cGarda\u00ed are appealing to anyone who may have been travelling on the R232 near Pettigo at the time of the collision to come forward.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cRoad users who may have camera footage (including dash cam or mobile phone recordings) are asked to make this footage available to investigating Garda\u00ed.<\/p>\n
