Bruce Springsteen<\/a> has shared a hopeful message at a cancer fundraiser, revealing his wife, Patti Scialfa, is in remission from blood cancer. <\/p>\n

In a pre-recorded message<\/a> in support of the Pan-Mass Challenge, Springsteen shared that after living with myeloma for eight years<\/a>, Scialfa is now in remission<\/a>. <\/p>\n

The Pan-Mas Challenge is an annual two-day bike ride founded in 1980 by Billy Starr. The challenge raises money for the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, where Scialfa<\/a> was a patient. <\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve said it before: In my world, they ridiculously call me the boss,\u201d Springsteen said in his message. <\/p>\n

\u201cBut Billy \u2026 you and your great team, you are the boss of cancer fundraising … As you know, Patti has been living with her multiple myeloma for over eight years<\/a>, but now, thankfully, she is in remission.\u201d <\/p>\n

The famed rocker praised the work done at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, thanking the nurses and doctors who worked tirelessly to help his wife. <\/p>\n

\u201cPatti\u2019s journey has taught us something I hope every one of us and every American can understand: medical research isn\u2019t an idea, it isn\u2019t politics, it isn\u2019t a line in a budget,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s the reason families find hope when hope seems hardest to find. When we lose sight of that, we lose sight of one another, and that\u2019s too high a price for anyone to pay.\u201d <\/p>\n

Springsteen thanked the team again, before playing \u201cone of my best riding songs\u201d, and delivering an acoustic performance of Born To Run. <\/p>\n

Springsteen and Scialfa first met back in the early \u201980s<\/a>, marrying in 1991 and welcoming three children over the years: Evan James, 35, Jessica Rae, 34, and Samuel Ryan, 32. <\/p>\n

The family first revealed Scialfa\u2019s diagnosis in the 2024 documentary Road Diary: Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band. Springsteen shared that she had been diagnosed in 2018. <\/p>\n

in 1984, Scialfa joined Springsteen\u2019s E Street Band as a backup singer. They were bandmates for years before their relationship turned romantic. \u00a0Getty<\/p>\n

\u201cThis affects my immune system so I just have to be careful what I choose to do and where I choose to go,\u201d Scialfa said in the documentary. <\/p>\n

\u201cEvery once in a while, I come to a show or two and I can sing a few songs onstage, and that\u2019s been a treat.
