SEOUL, Aug 4 \u2014 The Grammys have landed in hot water with BTS fans after quietly scrubbing the group\u2019s performance clips from its official website \u2014 just days after the K pop superstars declared they would boycott next year\u2019s awards.<\/p>\n
According to The Korea Times, live recordings of Dynamite (2021) and Butter (2022) vanished from the Recording Academy\u2019s site, though they remain accessible on BTS\u2019s own channels. The Academy has yet to explain the removals.<\/p>\n
On July 29, BTS issued a joint statement confirming they would not submit music for the 69th Grammy Awards, set for February 7, 2027.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe decided not to submit our work for the upcoming Grammy Awards,\u201d the group said. \u201cWe hope that music can be appreciated and loved for what it is, without being divided by region or language.\u201d<\/p>\n
The boycott is widely seen as a protest against the Academy\u2019s newly minted Best Asian Pop Music Performance category.
