Coronation Street<\/a> spoilers follow for Wednesday’s (5 August) episode, which is streaming on ITVX but hasn’t yet aired on ITV1.<\/p>\n

Coronation Street will reveal details of the discovery that Kit Green made about Gary Windass, with the police officer going to great lengths to reduce the sentence of the incarcerated Sarah Platt.<\/p>\n

Sarah is currently serving time<\/a> for the murder of Theo Silverton, which Gary helped cover up. With Kit being in a relationship with Sarah, he has attempted to protect her the best he can, but not at the expense of his career.<\/p>\n

This has involved keeping a close eye on Gary, and Wednesday’s episode of the ITV soap<\/a> sees Kit continue his investigation as he shares some Lionel Richie-themed banter with Nina Lucas at Roy’s Rolls.<\/p>\n

While having a drink, he gets a call from a contact, and arranges to meet later on. Kit is supplied with text messages and GPS data from a phone, but the meeting is interrupted by the arrival of Bethany and Harry.<\/p>\n

It turns out that Harry has been misbehaving at school, with Kit explaining that he still needs to tow the line despite how much everybody misses Sarah. The police officer is then grilled by Bethany, who asks about his not-so-secret meeting.<\/p>\n

Kit explains everything, and says that the data could be the key in reducing Sarah’s sentence – but only if they could prove that Gary was instrumental in information being withheld from the police.<\/p>\n

The pair begin to trawl through the data<\/a>, but Kit remarks that Gary has been extremely careful not to implicate himself in any text messages. Sarah also says that the GPS data isn’t providing any clues, and suggests that they pause their investigation.<\/p>\n

Kit soon has a lightbulb moment, however, and expands the search to include the morning after the night of Theo’s murder. He provides Bethany with some coordinates, which leads to some wasteland near the canal.<\/p>\n

The police officer remarks that it is the “perfect place” to hide something, but what will they find once they get there? And will any information on Gary be able to help Sarah be released from prison ahead of a murder trial<\/a>?<\/p>\n

Coronation Street airs on weeknights at 8.30pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX<\/a>.<\/p>\n
