A motorcyclist had dies following a road traffic collision in West Cork on Wednesday afternoon.<\/p>\n
The man, who was aged in his 50s was pronounced dead at the scene of the incident, which happened on the R587 near Gloun North, Dunmanway, at around 2.30pm.<\/p>\n
The collision involved a motorbike and a van, and occurred at approximately 2.30pm.<\/p>\n
The remains of the deceased were taken to Cork University hospital were a post-mortem examination will take place in due course.\u00a0<\/p>\n
No other injuries were reported.<\/p>\n
The road was closed for a number of hours for technical examination but has since reopened.<\/p>\n
Garda\u00ed are appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision to come forward.<\/p>\n
Any road users travelling in the area between 2.15pm and 3pm, who may have camera footage (including dashcam) are asked to make it available to Garda\u00ed.<\/p>\n
