\n\tTyga<\/a> isn\u2019t denying the AI<\/a> allegations.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe West Coast rapper talked to VIBE<\/a> recently about his \u201980s-inspired $tarface alter-ego and the self-titled album it spawned, which has been suspected of being produced with the help of artificial intelligence. The speculation is now over, as he\u2019s admitted to utilizing AI music generator Suno for things like \u201c\u201980s synths\u201d and a \u201cguitar solo.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI\u2019ve never spoken on this with anybody because I always felt like it\u2019s similar to a magician explaining how he does his tricks. Like why are people over-explaining how they make sh\u2013 that\u2019s good?\u201d he said when asked directly if he used AI music programs like Suno and compared its current controversial usage to that of the use of Auto-Tune during the mid-2000s.\u00a0\u201cIt\u2019s supposed to give you an experience and a feeling. But we definitely used AI as a [tool],\u201d he continued. \u201cAnd I know people are going to be mad about me saying this, but it\u2019s where technology is going. It\u2019s no different than when Auto-Tune came out. Some people were opposed to it, but real artists took it and used it.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tHe added: \u201cBut as far as the writing, all the vocals are all me. There\u2019s nothing wrong with using technology as a tool.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe AI allegations really started earlier this summer after Shoreline Mafia\u2019s Fenix Flexin had everyone talking with his own \u201980s-inspired single \u201cRUBBERZ<\/a>,\u201d and then footage popped up on social media of he and Tyga in the studio recording a song titled \u201cLavish<\/a>\u201d that had those very same \u201980s-pop-leaning synth elements.<\/p>\n

\n\tHowever, according to Tyga, the two just so happened to be \u201cexperimenting\u201d with this new sound at the same time. \u201cNah, we just did\u00a0the \u2018Lavish\u2019 record. But when he came to the studio, I was already deep into working on my \u201880s-sounding music. I had already played him some stuff,\u201d he replied after being asked if he and Fenix planned any of this. \u201cSo, when I saw what he was doing, I was like, \u2018Oh, this is fire! We should do this record together because I see you on a similar wave. I think it was just cool to do, you know? We\u2019re going to put the video out in a few weeks. The song just didn\u2019t fit the aesthetic of the\u00a0$tarface project.\u00a0\u201d<\/p>\n
