As someone who has never been into reality TV, dating shows are the bottom of the barrel for me. Don\u2019t get me wrong, I understand why people like them, and why these shows get so much traction, but it\u2019s just not my cup of tea. Having to go through 7 episodes featuring a man trying to choose between 20 amazing women really is the worst kind of torture for someone like me. Not only am I instantly upset by this sex distribution, but I also don\u2019t know anything about leading man Harry Jowsey. Before we get into the actual show, let me set one thing straight: I can be empathetic towards Harry for the loss of his father while simultaneously hating on this show. With that out of the way, now I think I can be fully honest with y\u2019all about this atrocity that is\u201cLet\u2019s Marry Harry. The premise of the reality dating competition is that 20 women are meant to compete all together while Harry Jowsey gets to have the time of his life with all these women before choosing \u201cthe one.\u201d Not only does he stay in the same mansion as the women, but they also just end up spending time with him in his room and hiding away from the camera, if you know what I mean. From my understanding, Harry has the personality of someone who doesn\u2019t know how to settle down. He\u2019s exactly the kind of guy you\u2019d see on shows like Love Is Blind, where they\u2019re trying to experiment, but after some time messing with the girl\u2019s precious feelings, they decide to move on. Harry has been on loads of dating reality shows, and that\u2019s how he got his fame. So is he really capable of leaving all of that behind? Or is this just a money-making show for him?\u00a0<\/p>\n
The Big Group Problem\u00a0<\/p>\n
Harry has to choose between 20 women when the show begins, and this can\u2019t be easy for anyone. Of course, there\u2019s immediately going to be people who stand out and those who don\u2019t stand a chance. So really, there\u2019s not much to learn about all the women in the first couple of episodes. But to make things crazier, Harry doesn\u2019t get to choose who to eliminate until it\u2019s down to the last 5 contestants, which to me looks like a man who can\u2019t make his own decisions. Isn\u2019t that already the biggest red flag to these ladies? I do appreciate that at least some of them point out that one of the friends he brought with him is literally his ex. Sure, sure, this is the kind of man who can still be friends with his ex. But okay, we\u2019ll be open-minded here; he wants to make a change, he wants to settle down after the death of his father. Fine, we\u2019ll give him the benefit of the doubt.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The thing that surprises me the most about these shows is how calm and collected these women are despite being pegged against each other in a hostile environment. There is one woman specifically who kind of seems to get bullied because she laughed at a single comment, and I just found that to just reek of fake drama. There was nothing truly believable about it. Anyway, from the start, there were some women who made a great impression according to me; two of them were Charlie and Faith. Faith was eliminated in the first elimination because she gave the guy a massage and then went and bragged about it. I mean, if he didn\u2019t want people to know, he could\u2019ve just said so. That too, he chose to switch Jade with her. Jade, who his friends were clearly ready for him to dump because her personality was just not vibing with them. I think Faith was an incredible pick at the start, and she would\u2019ve kept us entertained till the end too. So her elimination was a disappointment for sure. Charlie, on the other hand, was called too serious, which, if I recall, didn\u2019t this man want to change? Wasn\u2019t that the whole point of the show? But okay. I do agree with the points made about Maya A, who clearly just wanted to get some clout and become a superstar of her own. I hope she gets what she wants, I guess.\u00a0<\/p>\n
In the bigger group, Sammy seemed to be one of the first women who made an impression on Harry because she already had a kid. Surely this is the kind of man who would have strong feelings about raising someone else\u2019s child, but it seems he\u2019s not so alarmed by it. However, when there\u2019s drama between Sammy and Juliana, even though Harry defends Sammy, his friends choose to send her away, and he somehow agrees with this decision.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Juliana and Toxicity\u00a0<\/p>\n
Harry is clearly the type of guy who has slept around. Literally all of these women know that, yet they\u2019re willing to spend time with him and try to understand him and see the change he talks about so often. Truth be told, all we get to see is him kissing a lot of women all in a row, and there\u2019s that one moment I don\u2019t even want to recall, but it\u2019s left me scarred for life for sure. But when it comes to Juliana, he seems to really like her, and continues to choose her more often than not. However, he tells his friends that he feels like his toxic side is coming out every time he\u2019s with her. Now, if he\u2019s telling people that he\u2019s noticing a pattern and wants to avoid it, why would he then, in the next moment, go and save this girl who was clearly wrong for him? And why then did he get his friends to do the decision-making for him if he was going to differ from them so often? Also, I find it hilarious that we\u2019re meant to believe that Juliana was furious with Amber for interrupting her \u201cserious\u201d conversation with Harry when the two girls have clearly got a bond. You can literally see it in multiple episodes that they\u2019re actually pretty close.\u00a0<\/p>\n
It is only in the last moment (luckily he doesn\u2019t take Juliana into the top 5) that he chooses to tell her that when he said \u201cI love you,\u201d he didn\u2019t actually mean it. This is something I can imagine people crying about, and her reaction is definitely warranted. The same goes with Kiki or Rickiyah, who didn\u2019t really get a fair chance with the guy either because he just immediately thought they\u2019d be better off as friends.\u00a0But the thing I found most interesting about the show is that Harry chooses to give only one woman out of all 20 a special secret ring and expects us to believe that he hasn\u2019t already made his decision. This also happens so early on in the show, right after we see them have sex (not literally see, but you know what I mean). Let\u2019s be real here, his connection with Danelle sprang up on me like a freaking cat in a silent house. However, giving just one girl a ring in a dating reality show where you\u2019re meant to choose your wife makes things only too obvious.\u00a0Then Harry shows up and tells everyone that he got them a private jet, right after telling Juliana that actually he\u2019s not in love with her; he just felt pressured to say it because she said it. What? You were literally kissing Abby 2 seconds later. Abby, who also came up out of nowhere in the latter half of the show. So many of the other women seemed to be more active and around before.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Who Will Harry Choose?\u00a0<\/p>\n
Alex Cooper of Call Her Daddy is a producer on this show, because she\u2019s apparently like a big sister to Sam, and she shows up in episode 7 right after a massive bomb is dropped on Harry, who at this point absolutely deserved it. Now, in the last round of eliminations, there are 5 women left: Amber, Danelle, Sam, Emma, and Abby. The latter two were immediately surprising choices in my opinion, because they really didn\u2019t seem to be standouts in any way compared to some of the women who were already eliminated. Also, every time he says goodbyes are hard for him, I can\u2019t take it seriously, because he\u2019s clearly just a guy who likes to run away from his problems. All these women are literally just here because he\u2019s 6\u20195\u201d.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Anyway, Sam realizes that Amber and Harry are sleeping together in the shower because he turns it on, and everyone knows she\u2019s with him. Now, granted, Amber told him she doesn\u2019t want any drama, so she\u2019d rather keep something like this to herself, but the fact that Sam straight up asked him about it made it extra awkward. Because instead of just saying yes, he lied to her repeatedly. Here\u2019s the thing: it seemed like, from the start, Harry was just massively attracted to Sam physically. She\u2019s so quiet and reserved that I never saw any real connection between them, except when they were making out, which tells us a lot. However, she\u2019s repeatedly talked about how lying is one of her insecurities because she\u2019s been hurt in the past by it, but he really doesn\u2019t handle it well, and eventually it bites him in the back. When it\u2019s time for everyone to meet the families, Harry spends the night with both Danelle and Amber, because they want him to know how much they\u2019re into him, which is totally fine. But Sam, on the other hand, takes her mum\u2019s advice and listens to her own intuition, choosing to tell him that they should not spend the night together. However, instead of really getting into the details of why or even talking to her at all after the meeting with her mum, Harry decides to just leave, making it clear to her that he\u2019s not as serious as he claims to be. I can\u2019t imagine this will be nice to look back on when she watches the show, considering he did lie to her. So, truth be told, I\u2019m glad she left, but that leaves two women in the final episode, Amber and Danelle.\u00a0<\/p>\n
At the end of episode 7, he cries because he doesn\u2019t know how to choose between these two women. His family likes both of them; he\u2019s also got some pros with both of them, and he\u2019s totally lost and overwhelmed. While he gave Danelle the ring, I think he\u2019s leaning more towards Amber because he\u2019s drawn to her like a moth to a flame. She\u2019s been married before because she was raised Mormon, and that makes her skeptical about everything, giving her a mysterious exterior. This is very intriguing to Harry, and eventually I think it\u2019s what he\u2019ll choose, because he continues to call himself an adventurous guy. Plus they\u2019ve both lost their dads and have loads of siblings, so that\u2019s something for them to bond over. So I guess we just have to wait and watch, but do you agree with what I think?
