{"id":587988,"date":"2026-08-09T13:42:09","date_gmt":"2026-08-09T13:42:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/587988\/"},"modified":"2026-08-09T13:42:09","modified_gmt":"2026-08-09T13:42:09","slug":"daniel-kinahan-appears-to-have-found-god-as-plane-returns-to-ireland","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/587988\/","title":{"rendered":"Daniel Kinahan appears to have found God as plane returns to Ireland"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Daniel Kinahan appears to have found God ahead of his extradition to Ireland. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">An Irish Government jet is <a href=\"https:\/\/extra.ie\/2026\/08\/08\/news\/daniel-kinahan-extradited-ireland\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">currently flying to Dublin from Dubai<\/a> amid the extradition of alleged gangland figure Daniel Kinahan.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It comes after the arrest in April in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) of the Dublin boxing promoter who is an alleged leader of the Kinahan organised crime group.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1200\" height=\"700\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/Daniel-Kinahan-3.jpg\" alt=\"Daniel Kinahan\" class=\"wp-image-1799388\"  \/>Daniel Kinahan.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Kinahan, in his late 40s, was detained on foot of an arrest warrant issued by the Irish courts in relation to alleged serious organised crime offences.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Irish Government jet took off from Casement aerodrome in Baldonnel on the outskirts of Dublin on Saturday morning, touching down in Dubai that night.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It left the UAE just after 10am on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Speaking via a voice note to podcaster James English, Kinahan detailed the \u2018little box\u2019 he was being held in and said that the \u2018security is going to be crazy\u2019 for his journey home.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He then suggested that he had found God as he reflected on the situation he now finds himself in. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2018I\u2019m thinking, what happened, how I got here, all the stuff that\u2019s happening in my life,\u2019 he said. \u2018And when you look at things you know, everything is in God\u2019s hands. Everything happens the way it\u2019s supposed to happen you know?\u2019<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He then said that he is \u2018looking forward to getting home\u2019 and that he was \u2018always proud to be Irish.\u2019<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Kinahan is expected to appear before the Special Criminal Court in Dublin on Sunday evening where he will face a charge of directing an organised crime group.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Daniel Kinahan appears to have found God ahead of his extradition to Ireland.
