The frost has finally melted between Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham,<\/a> with Lindsey confirming that their decades-long feud has been put to bed.<\/p>\n

The pair \u2014 who famously dated from 1972 to 1976 – broke up during a turbulent recording session for the chart-topping 1977 album\u00a0Rumours. Lindsey, 76, was fired from the band in 2018.<\/p>\n

The singer and guitarist was fired allegedly after Stevie, 78, gave him an ultimatum due to creative tension over a planned tour. Lindsey sued Fleetwood Mac for millions, eventually settling in December 2018. Stevie later denied having anything to do with his firing.<\/p>\n

But now in a surprise announcement at Variety\u2019s Power of Young Hollywood event, Lindsey revealed that the pair ‘talk all the time’.<\/p>\n

And the timing isn\u2019t accidental. Next year marks the 50th anniversary of Rumours, the band\u2019s iconic 1977 album, and a new Fleetwood Mac documentary is on the way. <\/p>\n

Lindsey teased that ‘quite a few things will reveal themselves,’ hinting at long\u2011buried tensions finally being aired.<\/p>\n

Lindsey says the documentary process has been ‘a very circular healing process’ for the remaining members \u2014 himself, Stevie Nicks, Mick Fleetwood<\/a> and John McVie. <\/p>\n

After a messy 2019 fallout and Lindsey\u2019s 2018 firing, he admits things were left ‘not in a very good place’.<\/p>\n

Now? ‘All of that has been healed and worked out’.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s a significant shift considering Stevie told Rolling Stone in 2024 that she had only spoken to her ex-flame for ‘about three minutes’ at Christine McVie\u2019s celebration of life \u2014 their first interaction in years.<\/p>\n

The Nicks\u2013Buckingham dynamic has always been the band\u2019s most memorable storyline. <\/p>\n

They dated from 1972 to 1976, splitting while making Rumours. Lindsey’s pointed lyrics in ‘Go Your Own Way’ \u2014 especially the infamous ‘packing up, shacking up’ line \u2014 left Stevie furious for decades.<\/p>\n

‘He knew it wasn\u2019t true\u2026 Every time those words would come onstage, I wanted to go over and kill him,’ she said in 1997.<\/p>\n

But last year\u2019s remaster of their 1973 album Buckingham Nicks signalled a thaw. Now, with the documentary pulling them back into the same creative circle, the ice has fully cracked.<\/p>\n

Lindsey dodged questions about a reunion tour, but hinted that the band\u2019s renewed communication opens the door to something. <\/p>\n

Whether that\u2019s performances, new music, or simply a more honest retelling of their history, fans will take it.<\/p>\n
