{"id":588170,"date":"2026-08-09T18:16:19","date_gmt":"2026-08-09T18:16:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/588170\/"},"modified":"2026-08-09T18:16:19","modified_gmt":"2026-08-09T18:16:19","slug":"exports-forecast-to-pass-us850bn-by-end-of-this-year","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/588170\/","title":{"rendered":"Exports forecast to pass US$850bn by end of this year"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Amid optimism over long-term artificial intelligence (AI) development, the Ministry of Finance has forecast that the momentum seen in Taiwan\u2019s exports would continue into the second half of this year, with the total value expected to surpass US$850 billion this year.<\/p>\n<p>On Friday, the ministry released last month\u2019s trade data showing that Taiwan\u2019s outbound sales rose 32.9 percent from a year earlier to US$75.30 billion. In the first seven months, cumulative exports rose 44.7 percent from a year earlier to US$491.95 billion, data showed.<\/p>\n<p>Department of Statistics Director-General Beatrice Tsai (\u8521\u7f8e\u5a1c) said that despite worries over an AI bubble, which had spooked global stock markets, Taiwanese suppliers stayed upbeat about their business outlook, with contract chipmaker Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co (\u53f0\u7a4d\u96fb) raising sales growth guidance and upgrading its capital expenditure budget for this year to meet robust AI demand.<\/p>\n<p>                        <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/P09-260810-318.jpg\" width=\"100%\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Photo: Ritchie B.
