{"id":588370,"date":"2026-08-09T23:14:09","date_gmt":"2026-08-09T23:14:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/588370\/"},"modified":"2026-08-09T23:14:09","modified_gmt":"2026-08-09T23:14:09","slug":"beamng-on-ps5-still-planned-for-2026","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/588370\/","title":{"rendered":"BeamNG on PS5 \u201cstill planned for 2026\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<p id=\"h-\">In May of this year, a surprise PlayStation 5 version of soft-body simulator <a href=\"https:\/\/traxion.gg\/category\/games\/beamng-drive\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">BeamNG.drive<\/a> was announced.<\/p>\n<p>Some were so shocked <a href=\"https:\/\/traxion.gg\/open-world-driving-game-beamng-drive-is-coming-to-ps5\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">that the note in the unveiling that it was to release this year<\/a> was overlooked.<\/p>\n<p>But, no, that\u2019s exactly what it said. This year.<\/p>\n<p>Perhaps of note, however, the PC early access release hadn\u2019t received an update for eight whole months, until the recent <a href=\"https:\/\/traxion.gg\/four-key-features-in-beamngs-first-update-in-nearly-eight-months\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Version 0.39 launch<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/BeamNG-drive-PS5-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"BeamNG drive PS5\" class=\"wp-image-106808\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>During this roll-out, another PS5-specific note was tucked away. It read:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMany of you are eagerly waiting for the PS5 version we announced some months ago.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe console version is still planned for release later this year.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSince it\u2019s a new process for us, full of novelties, we don\u2019t feel comfortable promising the community a time estimate we can\u2019t be sure of.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSit tight while we continue working hard on that as well as on future PC updates!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Just to reiterate then, BeamNG hits Sony\u2019s console this year, but there\u2019s no firm release window yet.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s not yet clear how much of the simulation title will hit the console version, or which compromises (if any) have been made.<\/p>\n<p>What is clear is that the <a href=\"https:\/\/traxion.gg\/four-key-features-in-beamngs-first-update-in-nearly-eight-months\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">recent PC update included a dramatically altered user interface<\/a>, making it easier to navigate with a gamepad.
