KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 10 \u2014 Even for a power couple like Malaysian model Lisa Ch\u2019ng and Hong Kong actor Mat Yeung, the road to “I do” wasn’t without its hiccups.<\/p>\n
Appearing on a recent YouTube show, the newlyweds, who tied the knot in Kuala Lumpur on Aug 2, confessed that their marriage proposal didn’t exactly go according to script.<\/p>\n
After a decade of dating, Yeung, 45, had envisioned a grand surprise for Ch\u2019ng, 39. However, his stealth mission failed early when his attempts to discreetly source her ring size from mutual friends inadvertently tipped her off.<\/p>\n
The secret quickly unravelled as excited friends and relatives began dropping hints, leaving the Hong Kong-based model with little doubt that a ring was imminent.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur friends and relatives were simply too excited after hearing about the proposal and accidentally let the secret slip,\u201d Ch\u2019ng shared with a laugh.<\/p>\n
While the surprise was spoiled, the sentiment remained. Yeung admitted he had been contemplating marriage for years, though the Covid-19 pandemic and their demanding careers repeatedly pushed the timeline back.<\/p>\n
He eventually popped the question at Ch\u2019ng\u2019s favourite restaurant, surrounded by the warmth of their closest family and friends.<\/p>\n
Beyond the proposal, the couple opened up about the qualities that anchor their relationship. Ch\u2019ng praised Yeung\u2019s simplicity and genuine nature, citing his sincerity and filial devotion to his elders as the traits she admires most.<\/p>\n
In turn, the TVB star was glowing in his praise for his wife, noting her innate kindness and stating, \u201cShe could never be a bad person.\u201d<\/p>\n
Marriage has also sparked a surprising transformation in Yeung. Ch\u2019ng revealed that the actor, once known for a relentless social calendar and frequent engagements, has traded the limelight for the living room.<\/p>\n
\u201cThese days, he has completely left his nightlife behind and has become a homebody,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n
Yeung acknowledged this shift, noting that as he matured, the noise of social gatherings lost its appeal, replaced by the quiet comfort of staying home with his wife.<\/p>\n
Looking ahead, the couple expressed a keen desire to start a family, though they intend to let nature take its course. Their ideal vision?
