The zig-zagging outline of the Lizard lies roughly 20\u00b0 east (to the lower left early in the evening) of bright Deneb, the tail of the Swan and one of the three anchor points in the easy-to-spot Summer Triangle.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Lacerta is home to the open cluster NGC 7243. Shining at magnitude 6.4, this is a great target for binoculars or any small scope. You\u2019ll find it just 2.6\u00b0 due west of Alpha (\u03b1) Lacertae, Lacerta\u2019s brightest star (magnitude 3.8). Spanning about 21\u201d, NGC 7243 contains a few dozen stars. Its brightest star sits right in the center of the cluster, glowing at magnitude 8.0, with fainter stars crowding in around it.
