{"id":589199,"date":"2026-08-10T19:44:13","date_gmt":"2026-08-10T19:44:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/589199\/"},"modified":"2026-08-10T19:44:13","modified_gmt":"2026-08-10T19:44:13","slug":"rising-fuel-pressures-demand-a-balanced-policy-approach-says-fta-ireland","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/589199\/","title":{"rendered":"Rising fuel pressures demand a balanced policy approach \u2013 says FTA Ireland"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>FTA Irel;and is calling for a balanaced policy approach from government, as fuel prices to continue to spiral.<\/p>\n<p>Ireland\u2019s transport and logistics sector remains heavily dependent on fuel to keep goods and services moving across the economy. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cOperators are facing a growing cost challenge as the Government considers the phased restoration of fuel excise reductions from September, while carbon tax increases continue under the legislated pathway to 2030,\u201d FTA Ireland CEO, Niall Cotton said.<\/p>\n<p>These measures come at a time when fuel markets remain vulnerable to geopolitical uncertainty and price volatility. <\/p>\n<p>He added: \u201cFTA Ireland supports climate objectives, but policymakers must also recognise the operational realities facing transport businesses.
