{"id":590294,"date":"2026-08-11T20:54:09","date_gmt":"2026-08-11T20:54:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/590294\/"},"modified":"2026-08-11T20:54:09","modified_gmt":"2026-08-11T20:54:09","slug":"irish-fuel-prices-have-risen-substantially-new-figures-show-the-irish-times","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/590294\/","title":{"rendered":"Irish fuel prices have risen substantially, new figures show \u2013 The Irish Times"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/energy-costs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/energy-costs\">Fuel prices<\/a> have risen substantially in August with further increases expected in the coming months, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/aa-ireland\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/aa-ireland\">AA Ireland<\/a>\u2019s latest fuel price analysis.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">The price of diesel in Ireland has risen by 11 per cent in August to an average of \u20ac1.92 per litre, up 19 cents from July.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">The price of petrol has risen by 5 per cent during that time to an average of \u20ac1.84 per litre, up 9 cents from July.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">For motorists, that means an increase of \u20ac9.50 on each 50-litre tank of diesel and \u20ac4.50 more for a tank of petrol.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">A spokesperson for AA Ireland said the change is a \u201csignificant month-on-month increase\u201d.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">The spokesperson said: \u201cExcise duty did not change during August, so what drivers are seeing at the pumps reflects global market conditions rather than any change in tax.
