\u201cIt\u2019s been great!\u201d she said. \u201cI\u2019ve enjoyed the benefits that I didn\u2019t think that would come, because I was very skeptical. I was like, \u2018I\u2019m not taking this medication. I don\u2019t wanna do this. It\u2019s not gonna work for me.\u2019 You know, all the things. But when I realized food noise was really a thing, that consumed a lot of my head space, I was like, \u2018Oh.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

She’s happy to not be \u201cobsessing\u201d about food \u201cevery minute,\u201d explaining, \u201cI just vilified food for so long because I was taught that it was bad, and you shouldn\u2019t eat this or that. And it\u2019s been helping me be more mobile and have less joint pain and inflammation, and run around onstage [in Broadway\u2019s & \u2018Juliet’], and just do things that would have been much more difficult several pounds and inches ago.\u201d<\/p>\n

Chrissy<\/a> knows people will have opinions about her decision, saying with a laugh, \u201cListen, when it comes to me, everybody is judgy. It doesn\u2019t matter what I do. Before, people were like \u2018Why isn\u2019t she on a GLP-1?\u2019 and now they\u2019re going to know I\u2019m on it and be like, \u2018Why is she on a GLP-1?\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

As for why she decided to try the medication, she said, \u201cI\u2019m not getting any younger. I\u2019m in perimenopause, and there were obesity issues within my family and with my father, and I felt like I\u2019ve tried so many modalities, whether it was diets or therapy, and none of it really worked for me.\u201d<\/p>\n

Metz<\/a> later added, \u201cMy thinking was, how can I better myself and put myself first, which has always been the bane of my existence because I\u2019m a people pleaser. But I know that my blood work is already better, and I\u2019m headed in the right direction of getting ahead of things that needed getting ahead of.\u201d<\/p>\n

The actress said she knows GLP-1\u2019s are \u201cnot a magic wand,\u201d explaining, “I need to change other things, so I\u2019ve been working with a trainer, and I\u2019m lifting and putting on muscle and it\u2019s really about how comfortable I am, and learning what I\u2019m capable of, so I really try not to have a number. I just want to feel strong and not have my morning ruined because I stepped on a scale and I\u2019m several pounds above what I think I should be.\u201d<\/p>\n

Chrissy insisted, \u201cI\u2019m just a regular old girl who is trying her best.\u201d<\/p>\n

She\u2019s also partnered<\/a> with the telehealth company Ro, which provides GLP-1s to patients.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was the perfect partnership because yes, I\u2019m an actress but I\u2019m also a very normal girl,\u201d she said. \u201cThe fact that the medication comes to your door was very exciting for me, and the care team and doctors really check in with you. Like, you know how hard it is to get a doctor on the phone!\u201d<\/p>\n
