Reacher Season 4, starring Alan Ritchson as author Lee Child\u2019s literary creation Jack Reacher, is back this week with new episodes featuring the lone wolf hero.<\/p>\n
Following two Jack Reacher films<\/a> starring Tom Cruise in 2012 and 2016, Child\u2019s iconic book character was adapted once again in 2022, but as a streaming series on Prime Video. Starring Ritchson as the title character \u2014 an ex-Army Military Police investigator who travels from city to city with nothing more than a toothbrush \u2014 Reacher Season 1 was based on Child\u2019s first book, 1997\u2019s Killing Floor.<\/p>\n Forbes\u2018Reacher\u2019 Season 4 Rotten Tomatoes Critics\u2019 Score Marks Series LowBy Tim Lammers<\/a><\/p>\n Reacher Season 2 returned in 2023 by bringing the author\u2019s 11th book, Bad Luck and Trouble, to life, while Season 3 in 2025 adapted the seventh Jack Reacher book, Persuader. Season 4 of Reacher is based on Gone Tomorrow, Child\u2019s 13th book in the series.<\/p>\n While Reacher has been a ratings and critical hit since the beginning of the Prime Video series, there was a fundamental shift between the way the books were adapted from Season 2 and Season 3<\/a>, thanks to Ritchson\u2019s urging.<\/p>\n \u201cOne thing I\u2019ll say that I\u2019ve really taken charge of is the action,\u201d Ritchson<\/a> told me in a Zoom conversation in 2025. “I was really unhappy with the action in Season 2 \u2014 the way that it was cut with some of the fights that we had. I didn’t like the way that it was directed.
