{"id":590834,"date":"2026-08-12T09:12:18","date_gmt":"2026-08-12T09:12:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/590834\/"},"modified":"2026-08-12T09:12:18","modified_gmt":"2026-08-12T09:12:18","slug":"rihanna-shares-photos-with-her-children-at-barbados-childhood-home","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/590834\/","title":{"rendered":"Rihanna shares photos with her children at Barbados childhood home"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Rihanna has shared a photo with her three children, showing them where she grew up.<\/p>\n<p>The 38-year-old \u2013 born Robyn Rihanna Fenty \u2013 was raised in Saint Michael, Barbados.<\/p>\n<p>She was raised in a three-bedroom bungalow in the suburb of Westbury, where the street she grew up on was later renamed Rihanna Drive in her honour.<\/p>\n<p>The singer has now shared a series of photos visiting her childhood home with her three children \u2013 sons RZA, four, Riot, three, and Rocki Irish, one, who she has with partner A$AP Rocky.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" height=\"960\" width=\"640\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/rihanna-shares-photos-with-her-children-at-barbados-childhood-home.jpg\" alt=\"The MET Gala 2025 \u2013 New York\" data-title=\"The MET Gala 2025 \u2013 New York\" data-copyright-holder=\"PA Archive\" data-copyright-notice=\"PA Archive\/PA Images\" data-credit=\"Matt Crossick\" data-usage-terms=\"\"\/>Rihanna has shared photos visiting her childhood home with her three children (Matt Crossick\/ PA)<\/p>\n<p>One of the photos showed Rihanna standing with her children in front of a fence that had been erected in front of her childhood home, with a plaque on the driveway showing her name and a sun.<\/p>\n<p>She captioned the post: \u201cOne minute I feel like that kid from Westbury\u2026the next minute I\u2019m bringing my own kids back to \u2018Rihanna Drive\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTrippy how life works! And the Glory STILL and WILL ALWAYS belong to the Almighty Creator!!!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Once called Westbury New Road, the street was renamed Rihanna Drive in 2017 in a ceremony she attended.<\/p>\n<p>The official Barbados Tourism website reads: \u201cThis is the place where an icon was born; a backstreet located on the outskirts of Bridgetown. It\u2019s tucked away from the bustling traffic of the Mighty Gryner Highway and an earshot from the shoreline.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cToday, this street is known as a cultural landmark but before it was once just Westbury Road and the home of The Right Excellent Robyn Rihanna Fenty,\u201d it continued, referencing the singer being declared a National Hero of Barbados during their 2021 Independence Day ceremony.<\/p>\n<p>Rihanna\u2019s parents Ronald Fenty and Monica Braithwaite also had sons Rorrey and Rajad.<\/p>\n<p>The couple separated when Rihanna was young before officially divorcing in 2002 when she was 14.<\/p>\n<p>She told Entertainment Weekly in 2007 of her childhood: \u201cIt\u2019s not great memories. But it helped to build me and make me stronger.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" height=\"960\" width=\"640\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/1786525938_928_rihanna-shares-photos-with-her-children-at-barbados-childhood-home.jpg\" alt=\"The Fashion Awards \u2013 London\" data-title=\"The Fashion Awards \u2013 London\" data-copyright-holder=\"PA Archive\" data-copyright-notice=\"PA Archive\/PA Images\" data-credit=\"Ian West\" data-usage-terms=\"\"\/>Their father is her partner, rapper A$AP Rocky (Ian West\/ PA)<\/p>\n<p>Rihanna has previously spoken about her father\u2019s struggle with addiction and in 2009 described her parents\u2019 marriage as \u201cabusive\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>In an interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2012, she went on to speak about efforts to \u201crepair\u201d her relationship with her father after feeling \u201canger\u201d towards him for her childhood experiences.<\/p>\n<p>She said: \u201cHe taught me everything, and as awful as he was to my mom, at times, it didn\u2019t compare to how great he was as a father.
