Spain’s World Cup hero Ferran Torres has been given permission to miss Barcelona training to finalise a move to Paris St-Germain.<\/p>\n
Torres, 26, scored an extra-time winner against Argentina to help Spain claim their second World Cup this summer.<\/p>\n
He had been due to return to training with the Catalan giants on Wednesday but will not do so as a move to PSG gets closer.<\/p>\n
The deal with PSG, who play in the Super Cup final against Aston Villa on Wednesday night in Salzburg, is likely to be worth more than \u00a340m.<\/p>\n
Torres only has one year left on his contract at Barcelona and some fans have been frustrated that the forward has spoken openly about the possibility of leaving the club.<\/p>\n
Speaking on a media tour of the United States following Spain’s World Cup win, he said: “I have a contract with Barcelona but, in football, you never know.”<\/p>\n
Asked directly about links with PSG, he added: “Every time these teams want you it’s a good thing.<\/p>\n
“You never know because in football everything can change in one minute, so I have to be ready for everything.”<\/p>\n
PSG have won the Champions League in the past two seasons and are managed by former Barcelona coach and player Luis Enrique.<\/p>\n
The Parisians could lose Bradley Barcola this summer, with the forward wanted by Liverpool.<\/p>\n
Torres has been at Barcelona since 2022 having previously spent two years at Manchester City.
