For the past year, Kendrick Lamar has claimed not only the longest-running No. 1 on Billboard\u2019s most competitive ranking of hip-hop songs in America, but the two sturdiest champions of all time. He shared that spotlight with his frequent collaborator and friend SZA, and while the two remain in first place, Lamar now drops away from the second rung on the all-time ranking.<\/p>\n
Bruno Mars<\/a>, one of the biggest pop stars of all time \u2013 who has also become hugely successful on hip-hop and especially R&B rosters in the United States \u2013 passes Lamar\u2019s Grammy-winning smash with one of the top hits of 2026.<\/p>\n Bruno Mars Holds at No. 1<\/p>\n \u201cI Just Might\u201d<\/a> is steady at No. 1 on the Hot R&B\/Hip-Hop Songs chart<\/a> this week. The ranking, published weekly by Billboard, lists the most popular R&B and hip-hop tunes in the U.S., and the tally is built using a combination of streaming, sales and radio activity. As of this frame, Mars\u2019s smash has now spent 23 weeks in the top spot.<\/p>\n Bruno Mars Passes Kendrick Lamar\u2019s Smash<\/p>\n \u201cI Just Might\u201d is now the second-longest-running No. 1 in the history of the Hot R&B\/Hip-Hop Songs ranking. Just last week, it shared that distinction with Lamar\u2019s \u201cNot Like Us,\u201d as both tunes had managed 22 frames in charge. Now, \u201cI Just Might\u201d moves ahead, pushing \u201cNot Like Us\u201d down to third place on the all-time tally.<\/p>\n Kendrick Lamar Still Holds the All-Time Record<\/p>\n Lamar still claims the longest-running No. 1 ever on the Hot R&B\/Hip-Hop Songs chart. He and SZA debuted \u201cLuther\u201d on the list in 2024, and the collaboration ultimately ruled for 31 frames between that year and 2025.<\/p>\n \u201cI Just Might\u201d is still performing extremely well months after its release, but it will have to hold atop the Hot R&B\/Hip-Hop Songs ranking for roughly another two months before it can match \u2013 and then perhaps even pass \u2013 \u201cLuther.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n Bruno Mars Has Passed Several Historic Smashes<\/p>\n The past several weeks have been huge for \u201cI Just Might.\u201d In the span of about a month, the hit has tied and then broken its newly-formed matches with several of the longest-running No. 1s in Hot R&B\/Hip-Hop Songs history. That roundup includes \u201cOld Town Road\u201d by Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus (20 weeks), SZA\u2019s \u201cKill Bill\u201d (21) and the aforementioned \u201cNot Like Us,\u201d which stopped after its milestone 22.<\/p>\n Bruno Mars Rules Another R&B Chart<\/p>\n \u201cI Just Might\u201d is also steady at No. 1 on the Hot R&B Songs rundown at the moment \u2013 the only other Billboard chart where it still rules. The single has now racked up a total of 30 frames in charge of the ranking.<\/p>\n \u201cI Just Might\u201d Appears on 12 Billboard Charts<\/p>\n \u201cI Just Might\u201d lives on 12 Billboard charts this period, and it drops on nearly half of them. It also continues to rank well on several R&B-only lists. Also this week, \u201cI Just Might\u201d returns to the Digital Song Sales ranking at No. 21, becoming a bestseller once again.<\/p>\n
