{"id":591987,"date":"2026-08-13T12:10:18","date_gmt":"2026-08-13T12:10:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/591987\/"},"modified":"2026-08-13T12:10:18","modified_gmt":"2026-08-13T12:10:18","slug":"the-entrepreneurs-cashing-in-on-the-1-3tn-wellness-holiday-boom","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/591987\/","title":{"rendered":"The entrepreneurs cashing in on the \u00a31.3tn wellness holiday boom"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>She co-founded Pure Health Zanzibar, which costs from \u00a33,065 per person for eight nights, to try to help people like her who are suffering from poor sleep, low mood, digestive sluggishness and thinning hair, adding that the aim is to develop coping mechanisms that they can incorporate into their daily lives long after leaving the tropical island.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cInvesting in a passion project, like wellness, can be a gamble,\u201d she explains. \u201cBut the best business ideas are often things you\u2019ve tried to find for yourself and realised don\u2019t really exist.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"ck-custom-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.telegraph.co.uk\/money\/jobs\/career-advice\/mid-life-entrepreneurs-launching-businesses-50s\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Pursuing a business opportunity<\/a> based purely on your own interests \u2013 a common theme among wellness founders \u2013 is not without its risks, though.<\/p>\n<p>Jones says he was conscious of this potential blind spot when he set up Makahiya Fitness.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019d love to say we had a clear, unwavering vision from day one and simply executed it,\u201d he reflects. \u201cBut the reality is that the concept has evolved alongside the fitness and wellness industry and what people want.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Looking to the future, Jones says \u201cdata-driven wellness is huge now\u201d, and guests are increasingly looking for more than just bootcamp-style training sessions in the resort\u2019s air-conditioned gym.<\/p>\n<p>The business caters to this via \u201cpre-arrival testing of hormones, gut microbiomes, and blood work\u201d as well as screening for strength, cardiovascular and mobility issues.<\/p>\n<p>He says business owners and corporate professionals, in particular, view their health \u201cas an investment with a fantastic ROI\u201d.
