Bohemians’ Euro summer came to an end with a 3-2 defeat to Midtjylland at the MCH Arena in the UEFA Conference League.<\/p>\n
The Dubliners went down 5-2 on aggregate, with goals from Zane Myers and Dayle Rooney giving the travelling fans something to celebrate in Denmark.<\/p>\n
Bohemians now turn their attention to their meeting with Longford Town this Sunday in the third round of the Club Orange FAI Cup at Dalymount Park.<\/p>\n
Midtjylland are into the play-off round, where they will face HNK Rijeka over two legs for a place in the competition proper.<\/p>\n
Alan Reynolds attempted to overturn the two-goal deficit after making one change to the team that lost 2-0 at Tallaght Stadium in the first leg, with Adam McDonnell in for Sam Todd.<\/p>\n
Bohemians were out to pull off a seemingly unthinkable comeback, and they took positive steps towards that aim when Connor Parsons and Senan Mullen combined to win the ball back in their own half in the fourth minute.<\/p>\n
Ross Tierney worked with Douglas James Taylor to play it through to McDonnell, who managed to score on the counter, but he was flagged for offside after a quick VAR check.<\/p>\n
The Gypsies kept going, leading to an effort by Darragh Power that was put out for a corner by Pedro Bravo in the eighth minute. Jordan Flores sent the ball in but the referee blew for a free to the hosts over an infringement inside the area just as the set-piece was taken.<\/p>\n
It was a positive start for the League of Ireland side, that was until the officials ruled that Paul Girard-Walters fouled Cho Gue-Sung inside the area in the 26th minute. A penalty was awarded and put away by Dj\u00fa Franculino to give Midtjylland a lead they took into the break.<\/p>\n

The home side went on to double their advantage with their first chance of the second half, with Cho and Franculino combining to tee up Sofus Johannesen to finish in the 47th minute.<\/p>\n
Bohemians pulled one back in the 62nd minute to make it 4-1 on aggregate.<\/p>\n
It owed a lot to Dawson Devoy coming out the other side of a 50\/50 challenge and setting up Meyers for a deflected strike to give Bohs a glimmer of hope.<\/p>\n
That faded though as Midtjylland replied in the 78th minute from quick counter-attack that saw Dario Osorio square to Stanley Iheanacho who finished from close range.<\/p>\n
Bohemians did not lie down though with Rooney getting free and turning in a Niall Morahan cross in the 89th minute \u2013 but it\u2019s now back to domestic matters.<\/p>\n
