A man in his 40s has died from injuries sustained during an assault in Dublin city centre earlier this week.<\/p>\n
The serious assault occurred on North Great Charles Street, Dublin 1 on Monday.<\/p>\n
Garda\u00ed said the man died at the Mater Misericordiae Hospital today.<\/p>\n
The office of the Coroner, and the State Pathologist have been notified.<\/p>\n
Garda\u00ed said a post-mortem examination will be arranged in due course.<\/p>\n
A Senior Investigating Officer has been appointed to lead the investigation and an incident room has been established at Mountjoy Garda Station.<\/p>\n
A Family Liaison Officer has been appointed to the family of the man who died.<\/p>\n
A woman had previously appeared in court earlier this week in relation to the assault investigation.<\/p>\n
Garda\u00ed are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact them.<\/p>\n
Any road users or pedestrians who were in the North Great Charles Street, Dublin 1 area between 10pm and 10.30pm on Monday who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) are asked to make this footage available to investigating garda\u00ed.<\/p>\n
Garda\u00ed are appealing to delivery or taxi drivers operating in the area at the time, who may have noticed any suspicious activity.<\/p>\n
