Shay Given played for many years with both Keith Andrews and Damien Duff in an Ireland jersey, and he believes “Duffer” will be a brilliant addition to the superb work done so far by Andrews at Brentford.<\/p>\n

I was down there myself with a couple of sort of TV sets. They were so welcoming, actually, not just Keith and the Irish connection, but the club as a whole.<\/p>\n
But obviously with Caoimh, and Nathan Collins, and Keith, and now Duffer’s arrived as well…it’s fantastic to see.<\/p>\n
It’s great for Damien, as well, to be in there in the Premier League. He’s a brilliant coach, Damien. He just loves football, loves being on the grass and stuff. Him and Keith will get on really well, I’m sure, and want to kick on from last season.<\/p>\n
What Keith did last year is great for all Irish coaches and managers who want to be in the Premier League. It’s always the “foreign” managers – inverted commas – managers from around Europe and around the world who get the big jobs. It just shows that there’s a few closer to home, the likes of Damien Duff and Robbie Keane, who can be good managers as well, given the opportunity.<\/p>\n
