The Galaxy Tab S12+ is expected to appear as the SM-X840 in its Wi-Fi configuration and the SM-X846B in its cellular configuration. The Tab S12 Ultra is reportedly connected to the SM-X940 Wi-Fi model and the SM-X946B cellular version.

The listing also suggests that the Plus model could receive more regional cellular variants than the Ultra. Some of those versions may be limited to specific markets, including the United States, South Korea and Europe.

Bluetooth certification is required for commercial products that use Bluetooth connectivity. It does not confirm that a launch is imminent by itself, but it usually appears during the final stages of hardware development. In this case, the certification adds weight to the growing expectation that Samsung will introduce the tablets before the end of the year.

The Galaxy Tab S12 launch timeline is nearly complete

The Galaxy Tab S12 has now passed through several milestones since the beginning of 2026.

Samsung’s Head of the Strategic Planning Group for Mobile Experience, Daniel Araujo, previously named the Galaxy Tab S12 among the company’s premium products planned for the second half of 2026. That confirmation was covered in Memeburn’s earlier report on the Galaxy Tab S12 and Samsung’s rising component costs.

The timeline is important because Samsung has not announced the tablets during its major foldable event. That makes a separate announcement around IFA increasingly plausible.

When will the Samsung Galaxy Tab S12 be released

Samsung has not confirmed the Galaxy Tab S12 release date. Current reports point to two possible windows.

The first is September 4, when IFA 2026 begins in Berlin. The event runs from September 4 to 8, according to the official IFA schedule. A September launch would also follow Samsung’s recent tablet release pattern and match the company’s earlier product announcements.

The second possibility is October 7. A leak reported by SamMobile claims Samsung could launch the Galaxy Tab S12 series on that date, while introducing the Galaxy S26 FE earlier in September.

The evidence currently favors an announcement around IFA because the certification process is advancing quickly and Samsung has already confirmed a second-half launch. However, October remains possible if Samsung separates the announcement from retail availability or delays the tablets for final software testing.

Expected Galaxy Tab S12 specs and price

The Galaxy Tab S12+ is expected to feature a 12.4-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The Tab S12 Ultra could retain its 14.6-inch OLED panel and the same 11,600mAh battery capacity as the previous generation.

Both tablets are expected to use MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500 processor, which would represent a move away from Qualcomm’s silicon in Samsung’s premium tablet lineup. The chip is expected to deliver stronger performance and efficiency, although software optimization and app compatibility will only be clear after launch.

The tablets could ship with Android 17 and One UI 9, alongside 12GB or 16GB of RAM and storage options starting at 256GB. The Ultra model may offer up to 1TB of storage.

According to SammyGuru’s Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra report, the Ultra is expected to keep its 14.6-inch display, 12MP front camera, 45W charging and familiar notch design. More renders and specifications are also covered in Memeburn’s earlier Galaxy Tab S12 leak report.

Pricing is less certain. The Galaxy Tab S12+ could start at around $1,100, while the Tab S12 Ultra may reach approximately $1,400 for the entry configuration. That would make the absence of a standard 11-inch model more significant, since buyers may no longer have access to an $800 entry point.

Should you wait for the Galaxy Tab S12

If you already own a Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra, the upgrade case may depend heavily on the Dimensity 9500 and Samsung’s software improvements. The display, battery capacity and overall design are expected to remain largely unchanged.

Owners of older tablets could see a more meaningful improvement, especially if Samsung delivers better performance, longer software support and stronger multitasking features through One UI 9.

The bigger issue is pricing. Samsung appears to be moving its flagship tablet lineup further into iPad Pro territory while keeping several hardware elements unchanged. A faster processor may be enough for existing Samsung users who need more performance, but it may not justify a significant price increase for buyers who simply want a larger Android tablet.

For now, the Bluetooth certification confirms that the Galaxy Tab S12 launch is progressing. It does not confirm whether Samsung will choose September 4 or October 7, but the remaining uncertainty is increasingly about timing rather than whether the tablets exist.

FAQsWhen will the Samsung Galaxy Tab S12 be released?

Samsung has not confirmed the exact release date. Current reports point to either an announcement around IFA 2026 from September 4 to 8 or a later launch on October 7.

What processor will the Galaxy Tab S12 use?

Both the Galaxy Tab S12+ and Tab S12 Ultra are expected to use MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500 processor.

How much will the Galaxy Tab S12 cost?

The Galaxy Tab S12+ is expected to start at around $1,100. The Tab S12 Ultra could cost approximately $1,400, although Samsung has not announced official pricing.

Will Samsung launch a standard Galaxy Tab S12?

Current leaks suggest Samsung will launch only the Galaxy Tab S12+ and Tab S12 Ultra, with no standard 11-inch model in the 2026 lineup.

Marko is a tech journalist covering AI, consumer technology, crypto, and digital innovation.
