After nearly 30 years together, Slipknot<\/a> have parted ways with keyboardist and DJ Sid Wilson.<\/p>\n

Despite Wilson recently introducing himself as a current member<\/a>, the metal band officially confirmed news on Friday (August 14) following weeks of speculation about his status in the group. The statement remains posted on the official Instagram account for Knotfest, the festival created by the band in 2012<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cEffective immediately, Slipknot will no longer be associated with Sid Wilson,\u201d the post read. \u201cWe wish him the best in his future endeavors.\u201d<\/p>\n

Wilson was known as No. 0 and served as their keyboardist and turntablist, joining them in 1998, just before the Iowa-founded group had their mainstream breakthrough with their self-titled debut.<\/p>\n

His departure is one of many the band have seen in recent years. In 2019, Slipknot announced they were parting ways with Chris Fehn<\/a> amid the longtime percussionist\u2019s lawsuit against the band, after he alleged that he had not been properly paid for over twenty years of recording with them.<\/p>\n

A few years later, Craig Jones, who had joined them in 1996, left the band in 2023<\/a>, later that year, Slipknot split with drummer Jay Weinberg over what they called a \u201ccreative decision\u201d<\/a>.<\/p>\n

A TMZ\u00a0<\/a>report in late July claimed that Wilson\u2019s exit would mark the latest line-up change.\u00a0At the time, there had been no word on what led to the alleged split, but the band\u2019s guitarist, Jim Root, took to social media after news broke to urge fans to wait for more information<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In a message shared to his Instagram Story, he said: \u201cDon\u2019t believe everything you read. Stop. Think. Take a breath. Sit with it for awhile.\u201d<\/p>\n

Friday\u2019s statement arrives exactly two weeks later, making it the first official word from Slipknot on Wilson, who reportedly broke off his engagement to Kelly Osbourne<\/a> in March.<\/p>\n

She recently took to social media to hit out at her ex-fianc\u00e9, posting and later deleting a series of messages on Instagram seemingly calling out the musician \u2013 without naming him \u2013 demanding child support for their three-year-old son and opening up about the difficulties of co-parenting<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cWake the fuck up take some responsibility I will not take your shit anymore! I\u2019m done,\u201d she wrote. \u201cI want to be happy and I have a beautiful son to raise. Leave me alone. Let me heal. I can\u2019t protect you from yourself anymore. Also while I\u2019m at it can I have my dogs back and all my possessions. Oh yeah and maybe some child support?\u201d<\/p>\n

The couple started dating in 2022 and welcomed their son Sidney later that year,\u00a0before they got engaged in July 2025 backstage<\/a>\u00a0at\u00a0Black\u00a0<\/a>Sabbath\u2019<\/a>s\u00a0final show ever at the massive Back To The Beginning concert in Birmingham<\/a>.<\/p>\n

They reportedly called off the engagement seven months later in March 2026, according to\u00a0People<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Slipknot\u2019s last album \u2018The End, So Far\u2019<\/a>\u00a0arrived in 2022 \u2013 since then, they\u2019ve been joined by\u00a0new drummer Eloy Casagrande<\/a>\u00a0and have\u00a0toured in support of their self-titled debut album\u2019s 25th anniversary<\/a>.\u00a0Speaking to\u00a0NME\u00a0in December last year<\/a>, Slipknot\u2019s Shawn \u2018Clown\u2019 Crahan said that their long-lost record \u2018Look Outside Your Window\u2019 was out of his hands and with management for the final steps<\/a>.<\/p>\n

As for Wilson, last year he launched his own label, Vomit Face Records<\/a>, the home to a diverse array of artists, including Wilson himself, J57, DEAD X HEDS, Rome Fortune, Ricardo Grimm and Mars Black.<\/p>\n

At the time, he described venture as being about \u201ctearing down the walls\u201d, adding: \u201cThis is for the artists who don\u2019t fit in and never wanted to. It\u2019s rebels in motion that unapologetically stand out. It\u2019s to celebrate imperfection, people making real art out of the mess in a world that rewards fake.\u201d<\/p>\n
