Queens Of The Stone Age<\/a> have revealed the title and possible release date of their upcoming album in a bloody teaser video \u2013 check it out below.<\/p>\n

Starring frontman Josh Homme<\/a> and guitarist-keyboardist Dean Fertita, the newly shared 90-second clip features the two QOTSA members playing a game of five-finger fillet. While Fertita was pretty handy at the game, it all goes horribly wrong for Homme, who plunges the knife right into his own hand.<\/p>\n

Before things got too gory, Fertita had asked Homme when the record was coming out, to which he replied, \u201cSeptember 30th, I think.\u201d After that, it all turns into a bloody mess, with a voice-over rounding off the clip by saying: \u201cQueens of the Stone Age, the new album, \u2018Perfecth\u2019, coming September 30th.\u201d<\/p>\n

However, at the end of the clip, the date is crossed out. Given new albums are typically released on Fridays, and September 30 is a Wednesday, there is a chance it could arrive on another date \u2013 which could be backed up by the new video\u2019s non-committal title, \u2018Coming\u2026soon?\u2019.<\/p>\n

The announcement of the album title and potential release date follow the unveiling of the first single, \u2018Easy Street\u2019 which was accompanied by a similarly bloody music video.<\/p>\n

The arrival of the psychedelic, jaunty track marked Homme\u00a0and co\u2019s first material since 2023, following on from their eighth studio album,\u00a0\u2018In Times New Roman\u2026\u2019<\/a>. The band first\u00a0debuted the song live last autumn as part of their \u2018Catacombs\u2019 tour<\/a>, and it later became a regular fixture on their setlist, securing itself as a fan favourite.<\/p>\n

The band are currently opening for the\u00a0Foo Fighters<\/a> on their North American stadium tour, which led to headlines earlier this month after Homme complained about the venue\u2019s no-smoking policy<\/a> during their set.<\/p>\n

\u201cDon\u2019t let these fuckin\u2019 corporate assholes tell you what to do, do whatever the fuck you want,\u201d Homme \u2013 who was frustrated by the potential $10,000 (\u00a37,410) fine for smoking backstage \u2013 told the crowd. \u201cFuck that shit. You paid for parking, and you\u2019re paying for overpriced drinks, these fucking scalpers. Fuck having some corporation tell you what the fuck to do, you guys do what you want!\u201d<\/p>\n

Foo Fighters had just kicked off their \u2018Take Cover\u2019 tour<\/a> with QOTSA in Toronto on the August 4, which the latter\u2019s\u00a0first outing in North America since their orchestral \u2018Catacombs\u2019 tour in April and May<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Prior to the tour,\u00a0Foos frontman Dave Grohl explained why he was taking QOTSA out on the road with them<\/a>, explaining that it was to honour their \u201clifelong bond\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat better way to share the view than with close friends. In 1992 I first saw the legendary Kyuss perform at the Off Ramp in Seattle and met Mr. Josh Homme. The band were friends of a friend, and before long their album \u2018Blues for the Red Sun\u2019 became the soundtrack to that summer. 33 years later and with many miles behind us, I have shared some of my life\u2019s most rewarding musical moments with my dear friend, Josh,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
