Todd Boehly and Mark Walter are in talks to sell their stakes in Chelsea to majority owner Clearlake Capital, according to reports.<\/p>\n
American billionaire businessmen Boehly and Walter were two of the investors who partnered with Clearlake to buy the west London club from Roman Abramovich in a sale mandated by the United Kingdom government in May 2022.<\/p>\n
Private equity company Clearlake currently owns 61.5% of the club, with Boehly and Walter carving up the remaining shares with another investor, Hansjorg Wyss.<\/p>\n
Chelsea chairman Boehly in particular has reportedly been dissatisfied with the direction of the club recently, notably regarding recruitment, head coaches and a potential new stadium plan.<\/p>\n
The move by Boehly and Walter was first reported in the Financial Times. A subsequent article in the Telegraph suggested the duo believe the club is worth \u00a35 billion.<\/p>\n
